PEVNICK DESIGN, INC., Milwaukee, WI, Chief Mechanical Engineer. 2003 - 2009. A trade show sub-contractor and
manufacturer of computer-controlled waterfalls. Start up company. Served this company as an independent contractor.
• Established engineering infrastructure: Bills of Materials, CAD system, Drawing Catalog, Quality Control and
Durability, Manufacturing Procedures, Product Efficiency, Estimating and R & D procedures.
• Designed refinements to core mechanism of waterfall and made it 28% faster with sharper graphics.
• Designed and built steel structures that expanded the use of the waterfall.

• Retrofitted a drive train for a rubber roller in the coating section of an Egan press. .
• Designed and built two welded stainless steel tanks for a prototype commercial washing machine.
• Designed twin rail extensions for a rail mounted forklift. The rails' capacities are 4500 lbs. and are 12-1/2' high.
• A sub-contractor to several major organizations that offer retail, commercial and industrial maintenance services
and repair.

• Taught all academic subjects. Primary responsibility; follow the regular teachers’ lesson plan and present it to the
students.
RAND-BRIGHT CORPORATION, New Berlin, WI. Mechanical Design Engineer 2000 - 2001. Manufacturer of stock
and special finishing equipment for round, square and flat metal parts.
• Designed and built a dry polishing machine that polished all four sides of square and rectangular bars. It featured
a belt conveyor with pinch rollers with a ten foot conveyor on the loading and exit ends of the machine.
• Designed and built a new wet polishing machine with a circular brush retrofit. Its rotational speed was 1800 RPM
and oscillated 3/8” at 300 cycles per minute. It featured a pneumatic belt-tensioning device.
ADECCO-TAD TECHNICAL, Brookfield, WI. Contract Mechanical Design Engineer 1997 – 1999. Quad Tech
International Manufacturer of Ancillary Equipment for Web Presses.
• Designed and built a fractional filter lens cover. It decreased cleans from once every 50K impressions to once
every 2M to 9M impressions. It saved press downtime and paper waste.
• Changed the procedures for cleaning a Teflon airbar, saving $1K in replacement costs per bar.
• Researched, tested and selected a coating that would protect exposed parts of the QTI folder from abrasion.
Saved the company $5K per machine in part replacement costs.
KEY TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS, INC. Wauwatosa, WI. Contract Mechanical Engineer 1994 - 1997
Key Technical Solutions, Wauwatosa, WI. Sales, Customer Service Support, engineering design and drafting for work
brought in house. Used AutoCAD versions 12 and 13.
Phoenix Products, Milwaukee, WI. Mechanical Design Engineer. Designed retrofits and other add on devices and
systems to flexographic printing presses and other machines related to printing and paper.
• Designed and built a side-lay crush slitting mechanism for a Faustel flexographic press. This design allowed an
employer to move a maximum of ten knives across a web sheet without stopping the press. This design included
features for adding automatic adjustment capabilities. This saved the company $10K in fabricating costs and
many man-hours in press downtime for re-aligning web.
• Fabricated and constructed latex coating filters for a PCMC flexographic press, minimizing fluid shear and
saving in coating replenishment costs.
W.H. Brady, Milwaukee, WI. Manufacturer of Pressure sensitive and heat shrink labels.
• Mechanical R & D Engineer. Researched and tested thermographic printers for the company to OEM.
• Section Foreman and Quality Control Technician. Created statistical model for quality control (including
testing) and marketing, and tracked product, machinery and repair histories.
Magnetek, Inc. New Berlin, WI. Computer Operator (HP 3000) and P.C. Technician.
B.H.TYRELL PRINTING CO., INC. New York, N.Y. Production Manager (Second Shift) 1988 - 1993. Financial
Printer (The company manufactured all documents needed for selling stocks and bonds).
• Scheduled all incoming work (printing and typesetting).
• Supervised twenty-five union typesetters, pressman and bindery workers and hired extras, as needed to complete
in-house work.
• Extensive customer contact with company's clientele: lawyers, bankers and CEO's of large and small
corporations.
• Set up and maintained computer communications and job tracking system. It modernized the company's response
time to their customers' enquiries.
• Introduced to an employer Optical Character Recognition to convert faxed typewritten copy into ASCII
characters. This saved typesetting time and money. B.H. Tyrell was able to offered shorter turn around times for
typesetting and discounts.
• Developed a database for Work In Progress, saving $50K a year from lost or undocumented proof cycles or print
cycles

product line as B.H. Tyrell). This was a start up financial printing company. It was a division of Renaissance Printing of
Detroit MI where I was trained. It was the first financial printing company that had typesetting in another city and
electronically transmitted to a fax machine to make printers proofs.
• Heavy customer contact with bankers, lawyers, CEO’s of large and small corporations and the executives of
New York State Authorities and various municipalities.
• Established procedure for printer proof manufacturing and delivery.
• Established procedures for mailing Official Statements, Prospectuses. Established company procedures for filings
with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
