EMPLOYMENT HISTORY;
Employed by Darling International from June 1968 to October 1994. Darling
International is a corporation specializing in animal by-products ie; waste
cooking oils, butcher shop scraps, and animal viscera. Darling
International is based in Dallas Texas with five plants in California.
TRUCK DRIVER 1968-1978
Drove a collection truck servicing the area of Santa Barbara to the Mexican
border servicing grocery stores, restaurants and slaughter facilities.
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR 1978-1980
Duties included all fleet repair scheduling, refinishing, mechanical,
preventative maintenance, parts purchasing for fifty pieces of equipment.
Also kept work schedule for three mechanics as well as records for payroll.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER 1980-1985
Insured that customer base and company policies stayed in tune. Maintained
relationships with new as well as established customers. Generated new
business and promoted the growth of the company.
COLLECTION DEPARTMENT MANAGER 1985-1988
Responsible for seven millions pounds of raw material collected per week,
throughout southern California. Managed accounts, drivers, schedules,
trucking, dispatching, routing, D.O.T. Files, vehicle maintenance and
maintenance personnel.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER 1988-1994
Maintained close contact with company accounts and industry functions.
Responsible for pricing raw material, negotiated union contracts as well as
product contracts. Prepared bids for Government contracts, monthly reports
to home office, tonnage reports and participated in annual budget. Kept
very close relationships with major customers and continued to focus on new
business growth. Responsible for all activities in the transportation,
customer base, maintenance departments.
In October of 1994 the rendering industry was undergoing major changes. I
had the opportunity to advance to General Manager or receive a severance
package. I chose to leave Darling and relocate to northern Ca.
SALES REP. 1995-1997
Was recruited by a small rendering company, North State Rendering Co.,
located in Chico Ca. Was hired to acquire more tonnage by persuading
suppliers to deal with N.S.R. Territories included, Bay area, Santa Rosa, I-
5 corridor,,Reno NV, Eureka to the Oregon Border.
DIVISION MANAGER 1997-1999
Employed by Modesto Tallow Co. In charge of drivers, payroll, customers
and fleet maintenance. Operating out of their Dixon facility increased the
number of new accounts to a capacity that was too great for the number of
trucks available. The company sold and downsized eliminating my position.
RANCHER 2000-2002
Operated a small cow-calf operation on self owned property west of Corning
CA.
GOLD COAST SERVICES 2002 to 2005
Self employed providing rubbish, recycling, rendering and grease trap
consultation. Company's mission is to insure clients that they are getting
the best rates as well as getting the service that they are paying for by
coordinating fees, schedules etc. Monitoring unnecessary rubbish collection
along with improper bin sizes being the majority of the client's savings.
Business growth and development.
Microgy Inc. 2005-2010
A renewable energy company working with large feedlots as well as dairies,
to capture methane gas from manure. My responsibilities were to procure
other solid waste to add to manure for digesting i.e., waste food products
that contain high fats oils and greases. Once product secured, arrange
all details to get such product to facilities located in Wisconsin, Texas,
New York, Kansas, and California. Other important functions were to
maintain a great rapport with dairy owners as well as suppliers.
