Work Experience

Consultant: 8/2008-Present: Performing ad-hoc consulting with M7VI on

Patent modifications and defending Patents that I wrote to the US Patent

Office. Also consulting via brainstorming sessions with other M7VI

technical staff on improvements to digital camera systems hardware and

software.

VP Technology/Chief Scientist

2/1998 -7/2008 Visual Intelligence Systems Inc., Houston, TX

Was a co-founder of company, which is focused on providing solutions to

Remote Sensing Applications by applying the concept of sensor fusion.

Project Management Methodology used: Balanced Scorecard plus JAD/RAD

* (2008) In charge of a very large project that scoped out all aspects of

a bid project to the Air National Guard to control the entire life cycle

of a multi-spectral digital camera system that I had designed and patented

for the company. Microsoft Project was used to produce an extremely

detailed project plan that covered a) capabilities, b) Scope of work, c)

Gantt charts/timelines/deliverable dates, d) pricing, e) test plan, f)

acceptance plan, g) and support plan. The total bid specification and

project plan filled a two-inch three-ring binder

* (2008) Software Developer: Wrote 3-D Orthophotography applications for

Virtual Reality "fly-thrus". Developed a real-time/SCADA aerial

photography data collection software package (>10,000 lines of code in

C#/C/C++ and Visual Basic .NET) that is used in a data collection aircraft

and used to process ultra-high resolution digital aerial photography.

Aslo put together project plan to merge the output from this software with

our own Orthomap processing software to produce on-aircraft processing of

map accurate photography. This plan is currently being implemented.

* (2002-2008) Three granted patents, two patents pending, and 9 patents in

various stages of completion. Go to www.google.com/patents and search for

my name to view the granted patents. All 14 patents have my name as

primary or secondary inventor.

* (1999-2008) Ongoing design, specification, and project management of

major company software product: ISIS, which is the ortho-mapping software

mentioned above.

* Create a three-year R&D plan for future digital camera advances.

* At Visual Intelligence, I am in charge of all aspects of technology.

This included putting together the company from a startup. I worked

closely with software development staff and co-developed much of the

software packages that make up many of the utility programs that are in

daily use. I designed the local area network, the Internet capabilities,

the physical computing and communications facilities and server/desktop

specifications. I also designed and helped implement the digital airborne

orthophotography system that is the main product of the company. I

directed the efforts of specialists that implemented the LAN, the PBX and

the Internet and applications server platforms. See VISI Internet site at

WWW.M7VI.COM for more information.. I also contributed in the software

development efforts, using C, C++, Visual Basic, VRML and other Internet

technologies.

Director Information Services

7/1996 - 1/1998 Aspen Technology Inc, Houston, TX

* Aspen Technology is a small cap, Process Control Software Company that

serves the needs of Oil & Gas plant automation and optimization systems

running on Windows and UNIX environments.

* Put together cross-disciple teams to define the scope of several major

enterprise software projects, including:

1) Managed and worked at the software development level with a staff of 8

software developers in creating data recovery utilities for erase disk

drives, Oracle data base applications, C/C++ Programs, and converting

Fortran programs into C/C++.

2) Headed a corporate email and message study that resulted in selecting

Microsoft Exchange as the unifying enterprise messaging platform, Project

scope and defined work to be done, costs, timing, budgeting and

implementation and support infrastructure, The team that had

representatives from every Business Unit in order to insure Business Units

acceptance.

3) The same was accomplished for consolidating the multiple ERP systems

that were in use by different subsidiaries. The system chosen was Oracle

Financials.

4) Program managed the standardization of Network Addressing to a

corporate wide architecture

5) Program managed the design and implementation of a Windows NT Domain

Architecture.

6) Established a project plan for Network Management based on HP Openview

software systems.

Unix..

8) Project planned, coordinated and implemented an Internet based helpdesk

ticket tracking and reporting system that was well received.

* I directed 30 Aspen technologists and contractors in managing the

technology planning and day-to-day software development, computer and

network operations for two of Aspens' major sites in Houston. These two

sites composed 60% of the Aspen employees worldwide (700 of 1,250), most of

who are software developers-engineers. I inherited an organization that

was broken at one site, with a staff laced with low skilled technologist

and low performers. I took positive actions that raised the skill levels

of the good performers and hired top technology staff and contractors to

turn around the problems. I managed Oracle RDBMS professionals - both DBAs

and

Technology Lead

At Shell, I was recognized company wide for my software development

skills, as reflected in the many major Reservoir Simulations, Finite

Element Analysis, Case study, SCADA, Lab Automation and Numerical Methods

programs that I produced. I also wrote a long-lived Oil and Gas, Lease

and Field, Short Term Forecast program that was in use by Shell for over

20 years. These programs were written in C, C++, and Fortran. I also

spent a long assignment at the Shell Computer Science Research group,

located at their Bellaire Research Facility in Houston, TX.

6/1993 - 7/1996 Shell Oil Co., Houston, TX.

Worked one year on the functional implementation team for SAP R/2

implementation for Shell Chemical. This was a $100,000,000 project that

involved several hundred staff to complete. I worked extensively on

project that required interfacing IBM mainframe legacy data into CICS/SAP.

I also scoped a plan for beginning to convert to SAP/R/3 client/server

technology.

* I successfully implemented the first corporate client/server/mainframe

application in Shell Oil Co., which networked Windows PCs into a

PEOPLESOFT/DB2 APPC server on IBM mainframes. System integrated WIN PCs

/NetBIOS thru APPC gateway into MVS/CICS/DB2 PEOPLESOFT application.

Focus included end-to-end application performance benchmarking and QA.

the entire Shell IBM/SNA network plus influenced the move to TCP/IP as the

preferred corporate protocol.

* Produced a major security paper entitled "Communications Security".

Paper was

* presented to the American Petroleum Institute.
