Primary duties - I supported Clinical Staff by following out their treatment plans for each patient. I worked
with mothers and their children as they re-bonded from separation and prepared them for re-unification
due to drug and alcohol abuse and various other circumstances. . I also worked with adolescent girls that
are also recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. The majority of the patients had mental health issues
that stemmed from sex abuse and child molestation from earlier ages that led them to their drug and
alcohol abuse. Patients also had a host of other mental health issues that were being addressed. I
monitored their behavior and their bonding techniques with their children and taught them proper
parenting and discipline techniques. I supervised patients and monitored their activities at the facility and
out of the facility. I had one on one with pts. I provided support to them and their children along with
conflict mediations and medical emergencies. I oversaw the medication distribution and documentation. I
enforced the rules and regulations and was instrumental in changing and updating new rules and policies.
I taught patients social and living skills and performed initial intakes on patients entering the facility and
performed case management duties.

I supervised a girls group home, made sure that the girls had a safe and secure environment, taught life
skills, parenting classes, nutrition classes, problem solving techniques, case management, provided
community resources, job development and educational opportunities. I did intakes of clients, held group
session and one on ones with girls in order to help them through their personal issues. I took girls out on
public outings and introduced them to various recreational activities to help enhance their social skills and
teach them alternatives to alcohol and drug usage. I formed alliances with other Community Agencies in
order to help empower them once they left the house and aided them in securing employment and
housing.
10/1992 to 8/1998 Westbridge Treatment Center Mental Health Tech
I worked with young adults and adolescents. I helped them with their treatment programs by introducing
them to an alternative life style from drug abuse and other abuses. I did case management, held group
sessions so that they could express themselves and vent within a healthy forum. I created and
implemented new programs and formed alliances with outside Agencies for future support once they left
the facility and taught like skills.
1/1992 to 8/1995 Phoenix Birthing Project Volunteer Coordinator
I coordinated the volunteer program and case managed Clients and Volunteers. I recruited, trained and
supervised volunteers and matched them with pregnant client to utilize them as a support system. I
implemented new programs, conducted initial assessments of clients and wrote proposal for additional
funding. I gave community presentations on pregnancy prevention. I recruited Corporations and
Fraternities for support. I also formed Community Outreach Programs and alliances with other Agencies
to help empower our Clients for future success. I also, helped in coordinating fund raising events and the
execution of those events. I assisted in labor and delivery with Clients and made sure that they had the
necessities that were needed for them and their child during this trying time from donations from business
that I recruited throughout the Community.
