Plant Manager
2002 – 2010, Plant Manager of a steel truss plate manufacturing facility with revenue of
100 million annually in a good economy.
Responsibilities included but were not limited to the following, Strategic Planning and
Implementation using Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, lead by example, 80/20
Business Philosophy, PLS, USa, Inlining, Kaizen, ISO 9000 -2000, maximum utilization
of the computer system.
Financial performance graded on budget control and production costs control.
Actively promoted and assisted in the implementation of Best Practices in the goal to
become World Class in Production, Maintenance and Operations.
Promoted Health and Safety in the work environment. Developed an extensive Safety
Training program with Plant wide meetings on a weekly, monthly and quarterly schedule.
Developed a Safety Committee and Investigative team that met monthly.
Set up bi-annual mini physical fairs for all associates.
Set up annual flu shot for all associates and a vitamin C program.
Inventory management by optimizing inventory make up, monitoring levels and reducing
slow moving.
Monthly audit of cycle counts on raw and finished goods.
Maintained 98% OTIF.
Associate management by developing performance charters for each position.
Conducted performance evaluations bi annually and on an as needed basis.

Developed a monthly reward system for outstanding achievements for associates that
decreased turn-over and absenteeism. Also instituted a monthly financial usable
suggestion reward program for all associates.
Developed personal accountability and empowerment through teamwork. Provided
direction and the tools to empower the management staff. Developed great working
relationships with the supervisor / management staff.
Staff reporting directly to me included: Assistant Plant Manager, Production Manager,
Maintenance Manager, Traffic Manager, Warehouse / Shipping Supervisor.
I have reported directly to the President and also Director of Operations.
Slit steel scrap measurement goal was .75% and achieved 98%.
Handled with professionalism, audits conducted by OSHA, IL EPA, FM Global
Insurance, Workers’ Compensation carrier, year end physical, third party audits, internal
audits, customer visits and negotiations with vendors.
Set inventory levels, monitored and supplied product to 3 outside warehouses. One each
in Pa, Co, and Tx. The Litchfield facility has sister plants in California and Florida.
Traveling to these facilities was part of my job duties.
October 2005 through September 2006 oversaw the building of a new 127,000 square
foot facility in Litchfield.
Coordinated the facility move without disruption to customers.
Oversaw all building and grounds maintenance.
Incorporated into the new facility a Safety Evacuation Room, Safety Records / Training
Room, Recycle “Green” program for corrugated, plastics, paper, magazines, aluminum
cans. Installed a 46” flat screen in the break room to display production goals and
achievement, company updates and visitors. Installed a laptop in the break room for
associates use to access company benefits.
I believe a team that works hard together deserves to play hard together. I have put
together several functions for the associates and their families. Participation was always
above 80%.

Alpine presented facility awards from 2003 – 2006. During that time Litchfield was
presented with Best Plant Retention (two times), Plant Safety (three times), Best
Organized Plant, Plant Attendance, Operational Cost Savings and Production Turnover.
1989 – 2002 I held multiply positions including, Office Manager, Traffic Manager, HR
Manager, Shipping / Warehouse Manager and Assistant Plant Manager.

employed by ITW BCG, Inc. (formally Alpine Engineered Products, Inc.). This facility
manufactures steel truss connector plates for the housing industry. My former position required
some travel, which was great. I am also willing to relocate. I am very hard working, diligent
and conscientious. My former position was fast paced and could require extreme hours. I work
until the job is done right.
After 20 years, I am looking for a change. I have 22 years left to work and I would like to join
an organization where I had room to grow and retire from. I have always been active in the
community. I have served 2 terms with the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors. I served as chairperson for the Tourism Committee and chairperson of Business &
Industry. I have worked closely with the Litchfield City Council on multiple projects. The
Litchfield Chamber honored me with the Business Person of the Year award for 2006. I am
currently serving on the West Central Job Center Board.
I am a resident and was raised in Litchfield. I possess a valid driver’s license, have no medical
restrictions and am willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Salary requirement of $65,000 annual plus 15% potential annual bonus plan is negotiable.
