Responsible for maintaining and repairing all internal network hardware
including HP 4050,4550,8100,9000 printers, fax machines, telephone
equipment, PC's, servers, mobile laptops, and various office equipment
including binders and copy machines.
Perform daily network administrative functions for a 5 server / 25 PC, 50
mobile laptop network and provide help desk level support to 30 field
technicians on a 24/7 basis. Responsible for nightly backups/tape
rotation schedules, all user software and hardware support, software
rollouts, laptop/pc imaging,
upgrades/installations/testing/repairs/troubleshooting. Also responsible
for office Lucent Partner telecommuncations system extension
expansion/cabling/troubleshooting/repair/programming and external Sprint
cell phone voice/data communications.
Recently coordinated and executed a 2 day corporate move to new building.
Responsible to build and move all employee profiles to new Avaya phone
system/provide training, adjust new internet/firewall settings on Cisco
Pix, and bring 5 servers and 25 workstations back on line without
downtime. This project included planning, scheduling and coordinating
multiple vendors, office personnel, and building contractors to perform
office 110v wiring, network cabling, burglar/security system wiring.
Performed extensive server room and employee work area design including
details such as 110v circuit placement and proper amperage for devices,
telecommunication and data connection drops.
Wrote specifications, negotiated preferred pricing, ordered, and built 25
Dell notebook computers for mobile audiometric data processing to meet
OSHA industrial requirements. Replaced and reconfigured all mobile
telecommunications equipment which allows technicians to send data in
from the field remotely, saving the company thousands in yearly FedEx
charges. Negotiated cellular communications contract with Sprint to cut
charges in and implement internet access via new equipment. Project
was completed on time, under budget, and without incident or downtime.
Provided extensive training for 30 technicians on Microsoft XP, Office
XP, Internet Explorer, Firewall, Security and Virus scanning definitions
as well as notebook, use, care, and potential hazards with related
equipment.

a Kronos to HP 3000 interface that eliminated the need for physical disk

accounting department. Maintained all system backups and disaster
recovery plans. Planned and guided IT department through a smooth Y2K
transition with no incident.
Performed daily network administrative functions for a 50-workstation
network in an NT environment. Rewired three separate buildings with
category 5 cable, which served as temporary HP terminal serial
connections until full conversion to PCs. Installed three-tier Windows NT
4.0 network and performed extensive report writing in Powerhouse for data
conversion between the HP 3000 and NT environments. Replaced HP 3000
terminals with PCs and replaced serial connections with switched 10/100
Ethernet. Installed and configured network cards in over 50 PCs and
upgraded CPUs and memory modules. Designed and implemented Aeronet Radio
Frequency to replace existing telecom 56K WAN connections, which
increased performance and created a substantial yearly savings.
