E MPLOYMENT HISTORY
Optimum Art Glass, Inc. Eaton, CO 1983 to January
2010
Vice President and Partner
Optimum Art Glass, Inc. is an environmentally responsible manufacturer of textured colored sheet
glass for the Stained Glass, Architectural and Craft Industries. The company was founded in 1978.
Position Responsibilities Included: The research and development of a “kitchen” craft
product utilizing random sized pieces of stained glass pre-fabricated for use in mosaics, glass
on glass art, jewelry, mixed media art, and floral applications. The product was named
“Stained Glass Cobbles” and was marketed to the home crafter that had little or no
background in working with Stained Glass. Michaels Stores picked up the line at its unveiling
placing it in over 1000 stores. Finished project sheets were designed for new consumers with
complete how-to pictorials and step-by-step directions.
A sample of the project sheets can be viewed online at:

Craft trade shows were a primary tool for marketing not only to buyers but also a way to
promote the use of stained glass outside its normal realm. Booth design, product display,
signage, handouts, all the little details that go into making a good first impression then
translated into a lasting memory was meticulously created. With the aisles filled with
competitors, the booth had to establish Optimum as a serious manufacturer with an
outstanding ability to grow in new directions.
Results:
• Bottom line: trade shows brought in new customers and increased overall sales and
product recognition.
• Customer service was enhanced and customer satisfaction increased.
• The new product line created a new venue for an old craft.
• Free courses were created and implemented to instruct customers on expanded use of
products.
• A community outreach program for crafters was started to teach crafters the art of
glass mosaics and help set them up into business.
