WORK EXPERIENCE

Culture
Re engineered and redeveloped a struggling federally funded work study program, serving 1,500
students weekly in grades K – 5. Coordinated operations and events in 22 off site locations. Recruited,
hired and processed HR paper work for a total of 75 to 100 employees each semester. Assessed and
handled HR challenges. Responsible for payroll for 190 employees bi weekly. Developed and
implemented a plan to improve processes with continued evaluation of all processes. Utilized weekly
progress reports from each location for management purposes. Set new operating standards to ensure
federal regulatory compliance. Reorganized the team each year to maximize effectiveness. Initiated
Total Quality Management (TQM) and formal team building training. Developed and implemented
procedures for hiring, training, and retention of employees. Initiated 360 Degree Evaluations for
employees at all levels of the organization. RESULTS: Secured funding on an annual basis. Increased
the number of tutees being tutored by 68% within two years of inception. Increased
employee/teacher/parent/tutee satisfaction. The program was recognized for having a high
graduation rate with 75% of the students being first generation college students. Developed a program
that has become the third largest and most successful federally funded work study tutoring program of
its kind in the U.S. working with in the scope of the work study regulations.
Created an employee training program for new and existing employees in a critical work study
program. Utilized Elearning to facilitate training of a diverse workforce . RESULTS: Transformed the
environment into a collaborative workplace with a positive reputation through out the school districts.
Reduced employee turnover 25% in 16 months and 50% in 36 months.
Conducted comprehensive analysis of a payroll process supporting 200 employees in a non profit agency.
Identified causes of chronic payroll shortages. Developed and implemented solid payroll policies and
procedures. Launched a standardized process to monitor expenditures. RESULTS: Managed and completed
electronic payroll conversion in two months with no disruption to the employees. Eliminated payroll
shortages for the first time in ten years.
Developed a yearly strategic budget. Results: Consistently was below budgeted expectations allowing for a
surplus of funds.

Launched, owned and managed a computer learning center for students K 12. Recruited and hired
employees. Developed a business and marketing plan. Planned and conducted tutorial programs for a
diverse population of students. Conducted summer camps for 250 children per summer, incorporating
computer tutorials for 10 daycares. Delivered SAT preparatory classes. RESULTS: Profitable ongoing small
business for ten years, with a strong market reputation for delivering value in the learning process.

bank. RESULTS: Secured a $20 million dollar deposit base with in six months of launching the
opening of the branch and the first year and half of being employed with the firm.

Operations Manager Training Program 1988
Recruited to be the first person in northern California to train in a newly created operations
management training program. Trained in six branches through out Northern California.
RESULTS: Opened a free standing 10,000 square foot branch for the firm my first year of
employment.
