Experience
Manager, Grand Canyon Community Recreation Center - 2007-Present
Planned, developed, and implemented the recreation program for the Grand
Canyon Community. Managed the Community Recreation Center. Developed
cooperative agreements with agencies that support our non-profit
organization. Hired, trained, supervised, and scheduled Recreation Center
employees and volunteers. Resolved customer complaints and concerns.
Scheduled facility for classes and events. Presented a monthly report to a
Board of Directors. Sole financial officer. Developed and presented
Recreation Center budgets. Planned various activities and trips for the
community. Implemented new programs and trips based on community feedback.
Developed marketing and promotional material. Performed general orientation
for large groups of incoming Xanterra employees. Co-race director for the
Grand Canyon Marathon. Coordinator of the Labor Day Family Fun Day.
Liaison between Recreation Center and federal agencies, school, and
concessionaires. Oversaw major capital projects.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation- 2001-2007
Worked at a State Campground. Supervised and trained employees, Supervised
the operation of the registration facility. Checked customers into the
campground using the computer system, troubleshooting, paperwork, answering
the phones, giving customers information and answering customer's
questions. Sold day use and overnight tickets, performed weekly and daily
cash reconciliations, as well as performed basic maintenance duties.
SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry- 2004-2007
Was chosen to be on the Freshman Planning Committee, a board of selected
students and advisors that would plan activities and programs for the
freshman class and university community. Selected to be an Orientation
Leader, an intense 2-week program of training, planning, and developing
programs for incoming freshmen and families. Selected to be a mentor, a
program where upper class men are given a group of freshman to coordinate
activities and programs for. Presented results to advisors. Annual Fund
Caller for three years. Represented the school. Called alumni, future
students, and families.
