Qualif ications:
My occupational background has been in customer service, clerical, and within the educational
field. The customer service that I have been fortunate in being a part of includes child safety,
clerical, quality assurance, retail, inventory control, and most importantly customer relations.
Working with the public can be somewhat difficult; however, I find it simple to provide
friendly service to all that come my way. I currently work for a manufacturing company
temporarily while my services are needed. I have a variety of tasks I do throughout the day
that consist of clerical duties, data entry, and quality assurance. I have the opportunity to use
multiple computer programs and their personal VISUAL database along with filing and
answering phones. Before that I recently worked as a computer assistant and substitute teacher
with children in grades K – 6. This gave me the opportunity to place my foot in the door once
again within the educational field. I am a compassionate and motivated individual who devotes
my time and efforts into my job. I try to give that 100% to any work tasks that I encounter and
I achieve this in an organized and professional manner.
Computer Skills:
I have had the opportunity to use Windows XP and Windows Vista through which I possess
knowledge in Microsoft Office to include: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I also
know how to use a database called VISUAL which incorporates Access. I also know a
bookkeeper program, which I used for a family business a couple years ago and I still utilize it
for personal use. I have excellent knowledge in using the internet and I am not afraid to
research and explore to obtain needed information to accomplish tasks. I am tend to be self
taught and find that when I do not know something I do what it takes to learn. I currently type
63wpm. My typing certificate was obtained from Silver Valley School District through the
OPAC Keyboarding Certification Testing. Furthermore, I characterize myself as someone who
is a fast learner, self starter, motivated, and I am capable of teaching myself new programs and
I welcome any challenges.

Volunteer ing and Other Exper ience:
09/2007 –09/2007
Was briefly employed at Discovery Learning Center where I was a preschool teacher for the
really young aged students between the ages of 3 years old. My duties consisted of supervision,
preparing lesson plans that catered to sensory, motor, and developmental skills necessary to
build up these youngsters which prepared them for their future educational endeavors. I also
had lunch, recess, and bathroom duties. This was a brief experience; however I found it
informational and gave me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge with younger aged
students and towards lesson plan development at that age level. I did not include it under
employment references due to the short employment. I was let go because the company was
downsizing its staff and students and I was told they were thinking of moving their location.
Since I was still under probation I was one of the first to be let go. This was unfortunate but I
understood and was glad for the experience I did receive. Contact information: Alyson

08/17/2006 – 10/19/2006
(80 volunteer hours total)
Volunteered for Head Start State Preschool located in Victorville as a course requirement for
University of Phoenix. This was the first of 3 field placements required for the Bachelors
degree program I was undergoing at that time. During this time of volunteering I was
considered to be a teacher’s aide. I helped the teacher in whatever needed to be done for the
classroom and the children. I also was there to observe the functions of Head Start. The
children I worked with were between the ages of 3 – 5 years of age. This experience was
enriching and resourceful information that has given me the opportunity to further my
knowledge with children.
Year 2005
Volunteered as a children’s bible study teacher. At the beginning I was just going to be a
helper for the teacher; however later I was given the opportunity to teach the class on my own.
This was a wonderful experience that allowed for growth, wisdom, and friendship with the
children. In the process the children’s bible study grew to over 20 children, which was a
wonderful feeling. I was able to learn what is most important to me (the word of God), and I
was also able to teach this importance to the children that attended. I saw the impact the word
of God had on the children and their lives. I will never forget this opportunity and hope that in
the future I will once again be able to be involved with youth where ever possible.
Interests and Activities:
My interests include working with children, teaching children’s bible study, and eventually
becoming a fulltime Teacher after completing college. I also have interests in administrative
duties, customer service, and any area that will allow me to be organized and courteous. I love
working on the computer and learning new things about programs and I am not afraid to do so.
I am a very fast learner and can pretty much teach myself, no matter what the task may be.
I have also found myself learning how to make balloon animals and other creations through my
own teachings. This has given me the opportunity to bring it to places of work and also start a
side job with organizations that would like a fun aspect incorporated into the events they may
be conducting. I have provided my services at East Valley Elementary School located in
Fernley, NV for their annual carnival function, as well as a graduation for Head Start Preschool
in Nevada, and other voluntary events.
T imes of Unemployment:
At times of unemployment I have found myself at home taking care of my two children. I am a
loving mother and I am in hopes of finding a job that will provide excellent opportunities.
This will enable me to assist in providing a better life for my children. Additionally my
husband, my children, and my family are very important to me and I love them very much.
