Manufacturing Consultant responsible for plant transformations using Lean Manufacturing techniques. Work with
team of experts to turn distressed companies into profitable companies. Plant Turnarounds, System integration, interim
management. Roles include training new and existing management, associates in lean methodologies. In many cases
have taken over manufacturing operations and trained replacements on interim bases.
• Analyze existing equipment and or manufacturing methods and make recommendations and implement
changes using lean thinking methodologies. Examples include combining of work cells, line balancing,
mapping value streams and redistribution of labor to value added activities and more.

automotive OEM’s including BMW, Honda, Ford, GM, DCX, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc…
Business Unit Manager /Lean Manufacturing Manger (Jan 2004 / Aug 2008)
Direct report to General Manager responsible for P&L for Business Unit of $80 million in revenues. Duties include
managing 280 production employees, 8 supervisors, 4 Lean Coordinators, 12 maintenance technicians, 4 tool & die
technicians. Also was responsible for managing of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives of the
entire plant. Product line includes roll forming of ultra high strength steel bumper modules and highly automated
robotic mig and spot welding assembly cells
Key Achievements:
• Reduced scrap from $120,000 /month to $30, 0000 / Month. (75%) This was achieved by constructing a team
and using a scientific approach to analyze fact based data and solve problem to root cause. Team achieved
goal in less than 10 months.
• Increased Business Unit through-put from 63% to 83% or 20% improvement.
• Reduced Quality P.P.M. from 200 P.P.M. to 9 P.P.M. Many months have achieved 0 P.P.M. Worked with
customers to make our assembly cells more robust utilizing lean layout techniques as well as Poke Yoke and
error proofing disciplines. Utilized root cause problem techniques to solve problems to root cause.
• Achieved 2007customer giveback targets of $5 million. Achieved goal utilizing team of lean coordinators and
operators to eliminate both processing and material waste. Achieved goal in 6 months.
• Through lean efforts was able to re-deploy 77 employees to new program launches or value added activities
without having to hire new associates. Achieved by applying lean techniques and eliminating waste and
combining operations.
• Developed and maintained Lean Production System within facility to train, educate, and motivate both new
and existing workforce to understand and participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives. Developed
training modules and systems that were centered on the elimination of waste and an engaged workforce.
• Was responsible for facilitating & mentoring to other Magna divisions. Collaborating with other developed
training modules to be used in our quarterly meetings. As a result was able to introduce a Lean Intranet site

Responsible for a highly automated weld assembly department specializing in, projection welding, mig welding and
numerous robotic weld lines. Managed 140 plus production employees with seven supervisors and 95 production
