Supervisors: Dennis Miller Gerald Babin for Assembly and Test
Supervisor: Damon Crowe Shipping and Receiving.
Duties:
My first year with Litton I was hired on to assemble and test GE generator bases.
My duties included lining up the base and shimming it to get it level so that a drive shaft could be
connected to exact tolerances to the generator.
I would then hook up fuel lines if diesel fuel was used and fill the base with hydraulic fluid to
specified levels.
I then made my electrical connections to the test board and to pump motors and to other test
components. I would then fire up after all connections to check for leaks or connection problems
and start testing different components for vibration tolerances and report same. The base was
fired up and tested for at least 3 days for 6 hrs before final fire when QA would check all
connections and view all data on the runs and decide if it was ready to sell.
