EXPERIENCE Office Operations Supervisor. U.S. Census Bureau, April -

September 2010.

During production phases I trained and supervised up to 10

clerks and coordinated with field staff to ensure operations

were conducted successfully. Clerk training conducted by myself

included use of census computer systems, proper assembly of

field materials, quality control procedures, shipping

procedures, and handling of confidential information. I

supervised material preparation, routing of incoming materials,

quality checks and correction or return to the field of

unacceptable work, as well as processing and shipping of

completed forms. Additionally, I advised the Manager of Field

Operations on procedural changes to accord with new directives

from the regional center, collaborated with the Quality

Assurance department to develop necessary corrective actions

when warranted, and provided the Office Manager with daily

progress reports. At the close of operations I was also

responsible for supervising the disposition of surplus and

sensitive materials. Our department never missed a deadline.

Field Operations Clerk. U.S. Census Bureau, October 2009;

January - March 2010.

My primary role as a clerk was to support field workers by

preparing work material, conducting quality checks of submitted

assignments, and processing completed questionnaires. All

questionnaires were recorded in the census computer control

systems, and records were maintained via spreadsheets, requiring

a facility with current computer technologies. I was frequently

responsible for the shipping of various materials such as maps

and forms, and tracking the arrival of those shipments.

Ancillary tasks included cataloguing and routing incoming field

material including administrative forms and daily pay records,

providing general administrative support to field staff, and

addressing caller concerns regarding the personal visits of

census workers.

Enumerator. U.S. Census Bureau, April - May 2009.

As an enumerator during address canvassing operations, I was

tasked with updating official address lists as well as

collecting accurate GPS coordinates of canvassed living

quarters. Effectively and concisely communicating the purpose

of census projects was essential for me to successfully gather

data from public contacts, while also protecting the

confidentiality of personal information. Organizational and

planning abilities were necessary to plan effective travel

routes between address assignments, and consequently I exceeded

explicit production expectations while maintaining a high

standard of accuracy.

Graduate Teaching Associate. Department of English, Ohio State

University, 2004-2005.

As a university instructor I was responsible for conducting

English 110, Ohio State's First Year Writing course which is

designed to teach undergraduates not only standards of college

composition, but analytical reading skills as well. My tasks

ranged widely from the selection of relevant course content and

creation of a class syllabus, to holding regular office hours.

Pedagogical responsibilities included organizing daily lesson

plans, guiding the class efficiently and productively through

discussion of course materials, and evaluating student papers.

Assembly worker. General Motors Powertrain, Toledo, OH, summer

2002.

This position required a high rate of adaptability and capacity

for rapid learning. I served as a replacement laborer,

performing various assembly jobs as needed.

Assembly worker. General Motors Powertrain, Toledo, OH, summer

2000.

Assembly worker. Delphi Automotive Systems, Adrian, MI, summer

1999.

I carried out various assembly jobs as a seasonal replacement

worker. The position

necessitated a high degree of flexibility in order to maintain

the company's continuous productivity.

Warehouse employee. The Toledo Zoo, Toledo, OH, summer 1998.

I worked quickly and efficiently as a delivery driver to ensure

zoo staff's ability to meet the manifold needs of patrons.

Duties included pulling stock from warehouse, making frequent

deliveries to zoo grounds, collecting mail, and restocking

warehouse shelves.
