Current Position
Since July of 2010 I have been working for Lawn's Made Green Inc.
doing commercial and residential landscaping and lawn maintenance,
including daily customer service on a scheduled client route.
I have recently completed writing a novel, which is currently on submission
to an agency for consideration for representation.
Previous Experience
In December of 2007 I began working at the Lowe's RDC in Rockford
Illinois, as a Team Member in the Shipping Dept. I loaded and unloaded
trailers using fork and squeeze lifts, audited shipping lanes and picked
and put away product. I read invoices and verified incoming freight.
In 2005 I returned to the United States from Japan. I took the
Illinois Real Estate Licensing Course, passed and was licensed as a
Realtor. I have worked as a Realtor from May of 2006 until the present, but
am currently not active in this field due to the recent poor market
conditions. As a Realtor I am entrusted with my client's private personal
and financial information. I am held to strict confidentiality.
From 1990 through 2005 I taught English to all levels of Japanese
students in Japan, in classes ranging in size from one student to over
forty. I taught high school, junior college, and tutored elementary and
junior high students. I planned classes, wrote curriculum, created and
administered oral and written examinations, and taught conversation courses
to adults at the Mitsubishi Motor Company, Nissan Motor Company, Fuji
Xerox, Fuji Photo Film and other companies. At these companies my clients
were in the main engineers, and the occasional manager, designer or sales
person.
I have done extensive rewriting and proofreading of English translations of
Japanese scientific and medical papers, specifically dealing with kidney
function, stress and ulcer relationships, immunology, and immune system
breakdown. I also proofread engineering documents and worked with engineers
who planned to give presentations in English.
. From 1984 to 1986 I worked in Guatemala, Central America, as a Peace
Corps Volunteer. I planned and executed numerous projects in livestock
health and production. I taught modern agricultural methods to local
farmers. This included both classroom work and "hands-on" teaching in the
field. Livestock health was the major focus of my work. This included
teaching how to identify and treat various diseases, as well as proper care
of the animals. I administered vaccinations and calculated drug dosages to
treat ill livestock. I also worked with the Guatemalan Ministry of
Agriculture in a program to introduce superior livestock breeds to my area.
My responsibilities included identifying interested individuals and
evaluating them as to their depth of ability and willingness to adhere to
good management practices. I was also responsible for all follow-up work,
evaluation of the project, the continuing education of the participants,
and maintenance of regular veterinary care for the new breeds.
I speak, read and write Spanish well, and speak Japanese well.
