With only 3 staff members making the HR office, and over 400 employees, I
played a primary role in all areas of responsibility in the Human Resources
scope but was exclusively responsible for preparing new hires to begin
employment protocol, ensuring all proper documentation is complete. Conduct
benefit meetings, both group and individual; to enroll new employees into
all eligible benefit plans. Create, distribute and collect annual open
enrollment Health Insurance Continuation forms for all eligible employees,
maintain the benefit files for each, currently over 400. Act as liaison for
employees with insurance companies/benefit providers. Create exit packets
with School Board required surveys for separating employees. Prepare annual
Intent to Returns for current substitutes and maintain an updated database
for substitute contact and availability. Maintain office meeting and event
calendar. Prepare complex, extensive administrative correspondence for all
employees as well as external agencies. Responsible for tracking
eligibility of performance awards and ordering of longevity packets.
Compile and prepare data for administrative reports to the board. Serve as
Wellness Coordinator for the schools and general government, developing and
implementing activities and challenges to promote health & fitness.
Coordinator of the annual United Way of Metro DC campaign. Assisted with
the local ACS "Relay for Life" event and fund raising activities.
Responsible for conducting and reviewing criminal background checks at both
Virginia State Police and FBI levels. As the school system Event Planner; I
organized and hosted various annual events, to include Retirement
Ceremonies, Back-To-School kickoffs, Agnes Meyer Award celebrations and
Support Services picnics; organize job fairs and benefit fairs as well.

scheduling of replacements, interfacing with the main office, annual

Responsible for documentation of graduating students from United States
Army Ordnance Missile and Munitions Center and Schools (USAOMMCS). Created
diplomas, class rosters and certificates. Tracked student transactions such
as dropped students, late starts and student status changes. Maintained all
class records for over 50 courses taught at OMMCS including the FBI, U.S.
military Reserve Components, Department of Army and local chain of command.
Maintained course transcripts for all students, inventory of needed
supplies to include controlled items. Maintained office and conference room
calendar and scheduled departmental meetings. Handled travel arrangements
as necessary.
