To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you with
a desire that you will take the extra step and meet me for a face-to-face
interview.
My name is Hailey and I am a 2007 graduate of Stony Brook University
with a B.A. degree in Psychology. While a student at Stony Brook
University, I was also an NCAA Division-IA recruited athlete for the
Swimming & Diving Team. I was their primary 1-meter and 3-meter diver for
four years while being honored as Captain and Team Spokesperson during my
senior year.
Being a student and an athlete at a very competitive and highly
skilled sport taught me to be focused in every aspect of life. I needed to
master time management in both my studies and my sport that I know will
benefit me in the future. Not only did I accomplish many honors for my
Swimming & Diving team, I also was able to graduate with a B.A. degree in
Psychology in four years with a 3.16 GPA. I was also honored for my studies
with numerous placements on the Dean's List for academic achievement.
After graduating college, I moved to Charlottesville where I live
today. During the past 3 years I spent most of my time working in
restaurants as a bartender to support myself while I searched for the right
opportunity to start a career. It has been through bartending that I
developed the skills to interact with and relate to people.
I may not have enough experience in the specific position I am
inquiring about, but I feel that I can make anything work. This is the same
attitude that made me a success at college in both my academics and
athletics. With my past experiences in academics and sports, I know I can
adapt and learn everything I need to be a success at your company. I am a
quick hands-on learner with a can-do attitude. I follow directions very
well as well as being very creative. All I am asking for is that chance.
Sincerely,
Hailey Lewandowski
