and local rules and regulations. Labeling of containers, and
completion of pre-printed manifests and work orders.
Perform warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage,
distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Load, unload, move or
store items according to delivery or routing documents. Operate a
Forklift, Hand Truck, or other heavy equipment.
Conduct Lab Pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of
chemical waste into larger containers for shipment. Physically and
chemically identify and characterize waste chemical according to
EPA/DOT/DEA regulations. Create waste profiles and monitor throughout
end-use facility approval process.

Hazardous Materials Handler/Warehouse
Night shift Lead from 11-1999 to 05-2003 and at various times worked
the swing shift. Supervised 15 employees that were assigned to the
Warehouse, Shipping Office, and also Drivers. Trained and developed
employees to acquire SOP's. Communicated with Management, and other
department Leads to Develop, Recommend and Implement measures that
would improve a safer environment and improve overall production.
Assisted workers with any problems they may have to meet daily/weekly
deadlines. Maintained work schedules, Forklift inspections schedules,
and Accident Incident reports.
As a working Lead I pulled orders, loaded and unloaded trucks for next
day delivers in a fast paced demanding environment. All loaded trucks
had to be loaded in compliance with DOT Hazardous Chemical Segregation
Laws. Made sure that production of warehouse commenced in an efficient
and safe manner. Attention to detail was a must, there were numerous
chemicals that could result in injury or death.
I gave up my Lead position to transfer to the day shift receiving
department. I received all inbound trucking shipments which had to be
verified, counted, and inspected for any damaged items. All
discrepancies had to be communicated with Inventory Control Personnel
to correct any problems. Put away loads into warehouse locations that
were segregated by chemical hazard class or dedicated lot controlled
locations. Loaded and Unloaded inbound and outbound Hazardous Waste.
Labeled and prepped items for incinerator or landfill. Made sure all
disposal procedures (Forms, Labels, and Markings) were in compliance
with regulatory and environmental agencies. Performed Lab Packs with
Univar Chemcare departments. Performed off-loading of bulk liquid
railcar transfers into storage tanks in the Tank Farm Department.
Assisted with bulk liquid batch runs on production lines, that
consisted of filling totes, tanks, 55 gallon drums, 220 lb carboys,
and 5 & 10 lb pails. Assisted with Customer Will Calls.
Performed daily cycle counts for inventory control and rotated and
consolidated stock. Participated annually with Inventory Audit.
Maintained daily housekeeping chores. Worked on a daily basis pulling
orders, loading and off-loading material that consisted of Acids,
Bases, Solvents, Oxidizers, Flammables, Bulk Liquid Tanks, Dry Form
Bag Products (50 to 100 lbs)

for cartridge type respirators (Full Face & Half Face) Decontamination
Processes, and Hazmat Spill containment and cleanup procedures.
