Navigational Aids Engineering/Ops Processing
Assignments:
. Develops and prepares work instructions and maintenance procedures for
all Nav-Aids systems using Maximo work control software.
. Set up preventative maintenance schedules for the Microwave Scanning
Beam Landing System (MSBLS) and the FRN-45 Tactical Air Navigation
system (TACAN).
. Work with NASA and FAA to align and certify the MSBLS and TACAN
systems at the Shuttle instrumented landing site at Kennedy Space
Center and the emergency landing sites at Istres France.
. Write detailed troubleshooting instructions for technicians to
identify problems and repair
Nav-Aids systems.
. Sustaining Engineering responsibility on the AN-FRN-45 TACAN.
. Assumes the Task Team Leader for the AN-FRN-45 TACAN during launch and
landing support of the Space Shuttle at Kennedy Space Center.
. Assumes the Task Team Leader for the AN-TRN-26 TACAN and the MSBLS
during launch support of the Space Shuttle at the emergency landing
site at Istres France.
. Performs risk assessments following the resolution of equipment
failures.
. Prepare power point presentations documenting AN-FRN-45 TACAN
failures/status for presentation to NASA Engineering Review Boards.
. Performs safety walk downs to identify safety concerns of Nav-Aids
equipment and facilities.
