Data Analyst

Working as a data analyst at the Medical Informatics team under the supervision of a manager and handling the

following responsibilities:

• Preparing diverse reports to support decision-making process for the Executives from other departments;

distilling and understanding requests from other organizations such as providers and government, and

translating their requests to reports. Proficient in using advanced Excel features like formatting, Pivot tables

and charts as well as developing some VBA codes and macros to automatically run complicated tasks.

• Executing data mining, validation, modeling and analysis. General steps consist of importing data from

databases like SQL server and Access, or Excel files and other flat text files sources, processing data in SAS

environment and outputting summarized results to Excel or other destinations. SAS macros and PROC SQL

are frequently used in these processes.

• Participating in all phases of a project to Design and develop a data warehouse for Medical Informatics

reporting. Processes include designing Star-Schema data warehouse, ETL from multiple database sources,

creating cubes which consist of fact table and dimensional tables (OLAP cube) and designing and developing

reports based on cubes. In this project, BI tools such as SSIS, SSAS and SSRS are used for development.

• Cooperating extensively with team members as well as other cross functional teams on various tasks; solving

problems and answering questions from inside and outside of the company. Proven ability to learn new

business and systems quickly and to target the problem as well as find a solution to the problem.

Programming: proficient in SQL, SAS, VBA, MATLAB, STATA, C#, C++, JAVA, HTML, PHP, and CSS.
