general safety issues, facility audits, accident
investigations, company safety committee monthly meeting.
Selected Projects
Sahara Hotel & Casino Renovation, Las Vegas, Nevada
Project consisted of a 50-stories hotel tower, a 10-stories
parking garage, and ancillary low-rise structures. Supervised
field logging on borings to 150-feet in depth. Performed
field seismic testing and data analysis. Performed drilled
shaft capacity and lateral analysis, mat foundation and
settlement analysis. Completed geotechnical report.
Residential Development on Owens Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada
Project located on mountain foothills. Performed mountain
geologic hazards study to locate geologic hazards including
landslides with mitigation measures. Performed seismic
refraction tests to evaluate the hardness of the in-situ
soils/cemented deposits/rocks. Performed slope stability
analysis of the mountain slopes. Prepared geotechnical
report.
Man Camp, Vya, Nevada
Project consisted of multiple buildings and roadways on a
site of 160 acres. Traveled 1,700 miles and spent one week to
complete field exploration, soil sampling and percolation
testing. Provided quality assurance during construction.
Prepared final geotechnical report and final grading report.
Pyramid Island Causeway Renovation @ Lake Mead, Clark County,
Nevada
Project consisted of constructing a causeway to connect the
shore to Pyramid Island. Performed geotechnical evaluation
and prepared geotechnical report with recommendations for MSE
wall design, permanent slope stability and benching, and
slope protection with riprap.
Wastewater Treatment Expansion Project, Lake Havasu City,
Arizona
Main line sewer was constructed 159,130 linear feet.
Supervised field logging and performed field resistivity
tests. Provided engineering analysis and geotechnical report
with recommendations including excavation support, trench
subgrade, and corrosivity.
Terminal 3, McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas, NV
Provided quality assurance of the drilled shafts installation
at roadway abutments on this 200-million-dollar project.
Performed grading special inspection.
Investigation of a PCE-Contamination Plume in Shallow
Aquifer, Las Vegas, NV.
Installed 9 monitoring wells up to 110 feet. Logged and
sampled the soil during the drilling operations. Analyzed
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) by using a Photo-Ionization
Detector (PID). Provided hydrogeological parameters.
EXPERIENCE 2000-2002, University of Nevada Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV
Research Assistant, National Science Foundations of the USA
Research on inverting seismic surface wave data sets to
develop shear-wave velocity profiles emphasizing sites
containing strong stiffness contrasts. Expert at seismic
surface wave testing and data analysis including SASW, MASW,
and ReMi.
