Human Resource Mgr,
Team,
I am interested in applying for a Design Engineer / Designer position. I
have over 35 years of automotive and military experience. During this time
I've held positions that have exposed and allowed me to gain experience in
all phases of project, & personal management along with OEM & supplier
process.
I have over 25 years as a Designing Engineer / Senior Designer in the front
foundation brake arena, my primary specialty. I found brake design
challenging because it combines many aspects of engineering & design skill
sets, such as castings, stamping, hose and wire routings, articulation
studies, suspension travel, heat & stress transfer, along with system
stacks & GD&T studies.
I have spent the last 9 years filling the role of Designing Engineer / Lead
Designer which combined the following disciplines.
As a Designing Engineer/ Lead Designer responsibility included managing OEM
& supplier activities, human resources, product launch, program timing,
design reviews, problem solving, for releasing braking sub-systems. Along
with program documentation such as DFMEA, BOM's, PPAP, DOE's, & customer
documentation necessary to support engineering process.
As a Validation / Test Engineer, establishing validation criteria based on
customer direction to lab Technicians, and supplier base resources, for
both prototype & production release.
As a Lead Designer, responsible for all phases of design & drawing
creation, engineering stacks, GD&T, & FEA. Also managing supplier,
drafting, human resources.
I am fully versed on Wintel based PC with a solid understanding of MS
office tools. Also 28 years experience on CAD systems in production
creating 3D Cad models & 2D drawings, along with 3 Axis CNC & Wire Burning
Machining Centers.
I offer a vast amount of practical hands on experience, which has allowed
me to work in the capacity of the Engineering Project Mgr / Lead Designer
role. I'm a team player, an organized self-starter that aggressively
follows through with issues until the conclusion. This mind set has
allowed me to hold positions of responsibility in my career in which I take
great pride.
