2.
Project name : WAFL CPE Automation
Client : NetApp
Duration : Nov 2008 to Dec 2009
Team Size : 3
Description
The Write Anywhere File Layout (WAFL) is a file system that supports
large,high-performance RAID arrays, quick restarts without lengthy
consistency checks in the event of a crash or power failure, and growing
the filesystem size quickly. It was designed by NetApp for use in its
storage appliances.
WAFL supports for both a Unix-style file and directory model for
NFS clients and a Microsoft Windows-style file and directory model
for CIFS clients. WAFL also supports both security models, including a mode
where different files on the same volume can have different security
attributes attached to them. Unix can use either access control lists (ACL)
or a simple bitmask, whereas the more recent Windows model is based on
access control lists. This feature make it possible to write a file to a
CIFS type of networked filesystem and access it later via NFS from a Unix
workstation.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Automation using Perl scripting language for verifying the data
storage capabilities of storage devices .
. Designed, Developed and Executed set of test cases to validate the
functionality of the feature.
. Test Data is prepared against Functional Specification.
. Reviewed the Scripts/Test Cases/Data prepared by the other teammates
for other modules.
. Identified and designed the test cases for functional automation
purpose.
. Updation of reports and defect logging.
. Creation and updation of PDMR reports.
. Leading the testing activities and assigning the tasks properly for
achieving the deadlines.
. Mentoring the New joiners in the Project for faster ramp up in the
testing.
. Designed test strategy to meet the milestone criteria.
. Worked on Multiple Products and coordinated the testing.
. Planning for the effort estimation of different projects.
. Identifying the project issues and works with the team to provide
solutions .
. Escalation in time to avoid project delays.
3.
Project Name : USB Plug n' Play
Client : Hewlett- Packard
Duration : Nov 2007 to Oct 2008
Team Size : 8
Description
USB Plug n Play is one of the most promising projects of current LaserJet
printers provided by Hewlett-Packard. Current LaserJet products provide
several Host USB ports that allow users to attach USB storage devices.
These storage devices must be installed before the printer is powered on
for the firmware to properly mount the file system. . In current products,
removing storage devices is also problematic.
This project ensures that the user is able to install the USB storage
devices after power on as well as allow users to remove file system devices
without requiring them to turn the printer off. Enterprise users are
demanding solutions for secure and mobile printing. Features such as walk-
up printing, USB certification, print-from and scan-to will require the
firmware to support dynamic mounting of FAT 16/32 file systems. This
project has been built around all these requirements to check the
suitability.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Analyzed business requirements, use case documents, functional specs.
. Involved in Test Environment set up, Installation and configuration of
the test setup.
. Designed, Developed and Executed set of test cases to validate the
functionality of the feature.
. Test Data is prepared against Functional Specification.
. Reviewed the Test Cases/Data prepared by the other teammates for other
modules.
. Identified and designed the test cases for functional automation purpose.
