RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
As Program Manager, advised the Department of Housing and Urban
Development's CIO on IT transformation and modernization. Also supported
the Comptroller of the Currency by managing a custom software (.Net)
environment consisting of a suite of enterprise applications. Advised
management on software development, release management and software
testing.
Chief Information Officer, Director, Office of Information Systems and
Chief Privacy Officer for the U. S. Capitol Police. Directed all facets
of information technology systems including a complex, large-scale
(Capitol Hill) secure communications environment supporting congressional
stakeholders. Managed an extremely large, encrypted VoIP upgrade to the
communications infrastructure.
Performed the additional managerial function of Acting Director, Office
of Facilities and Logistics. In that role, administered a comprehensive
support management program, including asset management, property and
equipment management, facilities and fleet management and occupational
safety and health management.
Previous position: Deputy Director, Division of Information Systems for
the National Science Foundation (SES career appointment), where I managed
a $45 million budget and a staff as large as 300, counting contractors
and federal employees. Previous to NSF, I was Director, Information
Technology for the Architect of the Capitol (GS-15) at the U.S. Capitol.
Provided overall leadership and direction in implementing NSF's very
large custom software development environment (JAVA, J2EE) that is used
to process over 40,000 research proposals per year, yielding $6 billion
in research awards to the academic community.
At NSF, directed the security and EA programs, receiving an A+ in
Security and tied HUD for the best Enterprise Architecture in the federal
government. I also directed all facets of IT operations to include
improved/streamlined core customer-facing processes.
