Corporate Finance & Accounting Consulting
- Conducted corporate financial consulting for a number of large and
small clients.
- Developed integrated financial business forecasting models and
developed/analyzed business plans and presentations.
- Created accounting and reporting systems for startups (including
Altered Images Design, Samic Utopia Corp, etc) with integration
of sales and expense data from eBay, PayPal, Google Merchant,
etc. This greatly reduced the time required to maintain their
financials and provided them with greater detail and tools with
which they could better analyze the business.
THE SEATTLE TIMES, Seattle, WA - 2008
Finance Director: Planning & Analysis
- Responsible for Treasury, Financial Planning, Budgeting and
Insurance. Managed staff of eighteen.
- Responsible for short and long term forecasting, budget analysis,
cash forecasting and bank covenant projections.
- Advised executive team of measures necessary to stay in compliance
of bank covenants and improve EBITDA. The measures taken included a
reduction in staff by over 500 (approx one third of headcount).
- As a result of these actions the Company was able to revise their
debt requirements.
- Developed reporting metrics for various areas of the Company.
- Left the Company at the end of the year as part of the last wave of
layoffs.
