diagnoses of all host base systems and communications hardware and software
for the Computer Service Branch code 254 at NASA Goddard Space Flight
Center. The major hardware and software include IBM ES9121, Amdahl 4745,
IBM 3172, Interconnect controller 3274's, 3174's, RENEX, and IBM 7171
protocol converters, Rabbit gateways, VTAM 4.1, NCP7.1, NETMASTER, NETSPY,
VPS, VPSTCP, VPSPCL, VPSDRS, TPX, Automate MVS, Connect Direct, SAR/Express
Delivery and AFP/PSF.
Developed and implemented a MVS host to LAN workstation printing solution
which involved MVS host initiated printer orientation for LAN and local
attached workstation Hewlett-Packard printers. Evaluation, and installed
a Data Center Modernization solution involving the following Legent
software products; Automate MVS, Automate XC, Terminal Productivity
Executive (TPX), System Archive and Retrieval System (SAR), paperless
office software Express Delivery, and advanced printing solutions from IBM,
Levi Ray, AFP/PSF, and VPS.
Completed two CPU migrations while on the Goddard Space Flight Center CSB
code 254 contract. Assisted in the migrations from an AMDHAL 5890 host
computer in to a IBM ES9121 model 490 in 1991 and then to a ES9021 model
500 in 1993.

install Amdahl's 4745 Front Ends processors, IBM3708, and RENEX protocol
converters, and VTAM 3.2 host access method; replacing two COMTEN 3650's
Front End Processors and host access method TCAM. Upgraded the NASA
Headquarters inter-center communications lines from 9.6kb Bisynchronous
links to 56kb links in a Back to Back dual gateway NCP configuration (SNI).
Planned, installed, and maintained the communications software and
hardware relating to the IBM SNA/SNI environment. Implemented SNA
network management software package NETVIEW. Planned data center
communications move to a new building using FDDI and Network Systems
channel extension architecture.
