programming modifications, schedule modifications,

backup and storage modifications to

ensure the mainframe could handle the increased transaction

volume, disk creep, and inefficient new systems that occurs with fast

growth. On the team that came up with proposed

solutions for Merisel's Year 2000 project. Another assignment was to

eliminate file contention between batch and CICS,

. There was part time involvement in

correcting Debit Memo/Returns subsystem. Project lead

and Sr. Programmer/Analyst on a team that did the data

conversions, interfaces, and EDI set up for Merisel's mainframe-to-SAP

gathered various data fields over

expense data due to theater landlords for

''additional'' participation to the G/L system (including Historic data

capture/purification).

Helped upgrade batch and CICS COBOL programs and tape files

from DOS to VM DOS. Was on

team to evaluated different possible solutions to their

''Additional Rents'' problems and, when it was

decided that they would write their own, to recruit and train

the team members to complete the task.

Lorimar Studios, Culver City CA

4 months

Designed the video distribution system from satellite download

to video shipment to

subsidiaries for Lorimar's video distribution

center. Evaluated hardware and software to run the

system with, selected staff to train for the

systems and passed all recommendations to

Lorimar's IS executives. VAX VMS and

Priminos.

Various MVS mainframe projects. Installed, initialized, and

wrote interfaces for DDA A/P system. Gathered and transferred

statistical data from store based PCs to the mainframe. Designed the

Stratified Random Sampling system that Ralph's auditors use to audit

the automated high-rise warehouse (99.7% accuracy

with a 0.55% sample). Helped convert CICS Macro programs (COBOL

and BAL) to Command level. Helped optimize and parameterize the on-line

pricing system. Wrote on-line interfaces between the Pricing system

and the Purchase Order system. Helped optimize JCL to reduce batch

window.

platform from DOS to VM and finally to

MVS. Rewrote specious government supplied assembler DRG
