over 200 people. Having a thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, and

Having Responsibility for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day
production flow and activities required to facilitate a high volume
assembly operation with an environment for Lean Manufacturing, continuous
improvement, root cause analyses and corrective action, open
communications, and teamwork, with focus on quality, delivery,
productivity, and maintain a clean and orderly plant thru 5S. Managed and
Oversaw up to twenty (20) production teams with as many as 200 Assemblers
and Team Leaders performing various aspects in the build-up and assemble
areas in the process of building class 8 trucks in this eight hour multi-

Accomplishments
. Instituted "in-station" quality as part of Team management principles.
. Required Team Leaders to sign off on their respective phase of the
manufacturing process eliminating errors that would have easily gone
undetected.
. Reconstructed the assembly process with the advent of Lean Manufacturing,
eliminating headcount by 10%.
. Studied and learned the details of the Union Contract enabling me to
effectively negotiate more efficient processes.

From 1979-1988, worked for a number of North Carolina manufacturers of
mobile homes overseeing the manufacturing and assembly process. Becoming
Production Supervisor by age 24 at Scott Housing, and Carolina
International Housing, and Production Manager by age 27, at Gurdon
Industries. Other companies included; Fisher Homes, Tidwell Homes, and
Carolina Homes.
