Arizona Model United Nations (AMUN) is a club devoted to understanding

of the world and the many cultures within it.

The first half of the year is dedicated to preparing for the American

MUN intercollegiate conference. We research our country, and once at the

conference work with our peers to discover a solution that the majority

of the 192 countries represented will agree with.

The second half to the year we prepare to put on one of the largest and

only bilingual High School conferences. I am the head of finance, club

historian, and chair one of the committees at the conference.

Undergraduate Research Assistant 2007-2009

BIO 5 Research Lab, Tucson, AZ

I worked in a pharmacology cancer research lab in the biological side.

I was in charge of the pancreatic cell lines- measuring the basal levels

of RNA and target proteins within the various cells- as well as worked

on the down regulation of c-Myc and the stabilization of secondary

protein structures using novel cancer reagents.

Student Teacher 2006-2008

Marine Discovery and Science Connectors, Tucson, AZ

Taught science material to students in low socioeconomic areas in order

to help increase standardized test scores and increase student

appreciation of science. I also increased student knowledge about

college and the various careers that require and science education.

Anatomy Enthusiast Society, Tucson, AZ

AES provides hands on surgical experience to selected pre-medical

students. AES operates at a state of the art surgical center and houses

2 cadaverous specimens.

My duties include fund raising, obtaining extra items (gloves, gowns)

from local hospitals, organizing dissections by networking with local

physicians of various specialties, and preparing short didactic

presentations for my club peers.
