* Responsible for assisting the President of the Corporation with
coordination of travel arrangements, scheduling, correspondence and
preparation of presentation material. Also responsible for accumulating and
assimilating information for monthly sales and market reports issued
exclusively to corporate officers. Insured that office procedures and
policies are properly executed. Served as liaison for the President's
Office with external constituents and corporate Special Events Coordinator
by planning, negotiating with vendors, executing and budgeting meetings,
dinners, conferences and social events. Also responsible for maintenance of
the Internet website, adding and deleting information as requested.
* Responsible for acquiring and maintaining L-1A, L-1B, L-2, E-2, H-1B and
H-3
non-immigrant visas for all U. S. Corporation subsidiaries for Japanese
expatriates (approximately 125 employees and 200 dependents), who were
given temporary assignments in the United States, thereby allowing the
foreign employees to establish residency and maintain legal employment
status. Interacted with legal counsel regarding expatriate issues of
concern, gathering information for H-1B petitions, as well as compiling
data for the Corporate L Blanket petition. Interacts with the Department of
Homeland Security (BCIS), on behalf of the expatriate, to correct errors
occasionally incurred when expatriates re-enter the USA. In many cases,
serves as the liaison between Japanese expatriates, who are petitioning for
Permanent Residency, and their legal counsel.
*Assisted the Sr. Vice President of the Corporation by coordinating public
relations activities, such as the annual visit by high school students from
Kurobe, Japan during the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, GA; event
planning for visiting Japanese dignitaries, as well as coordinating various
media events. Served as liaison for the Corporation with Macon city and
county officials. Coordinated and planned activities involved in the two-
week visit by Japanese students, which consisted of securing host families,
preparation and verification of student daily itineraries, travel
arrangements and chaperoning the student visitors during planned
activities, securing locations and caterers for receptions and parties.
Coordinated entry and float design to be entered into the Cherry Blossom
Festival parade. Coordinated Cherry Blossom Opening Ceremony events with
Mable White Baptist Church, the Cherry Blossom Festival Headquarters, and
Wesleyan College. Participated in television interviews, preparation of
press releases and written articles regarding public relations activities.

* Assisted the Dean of Engineering with the day to day operational
procedures essential in maintaining an efficient administrative office.
Performed executive assignments for the Dean, including issues requiring
confidentiality. Supported the Dean by determining and resolving daily
operational dilemmas which were time consuming, thereby freeing him to
address pressing academic issues. Coordinated the Dean's travel
arrangements, prepared meeting agendas, recorded and transcribed notes for
minutes reflecting activities for the School of Engineering and National
Engineering Advisory Board (NEAB). Assisted the Dean in preparation of the
annual office budget, as well as the monitoring and approval of daily
expenditures. Balanced monthly engineering account statements (20 accounts)
with the central administration accounting system. Provided
guidance and/or instruction as supervisor of support staff (6 support staff

within the school. Assisted the Dean by evaluating support staff for yearly

* Served as the official hostess for the School of Engineering, as well as
the liaison with external industrial constituents such as the National
Engineering Advisory Board. Coordinated and planned events to host the bi-
annual NEAB meetings, such as securing hotel accommodations, arrangement of
transportation, catering, and conference facilities. Assisted with the
coordination of school events, such as Spring Fling,
Graduation and Honor's Day exercises, as well as various dinners and social
events.
