Work experience
November 1996 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development,
Nuclear Energy Agency, Data Bank. Data Bank and Nuclear
to present Science Publications Editor.
Responsible for the entire publications process, from
reception of original texts (text editing, page layout)
to pre-press (generation of PDF files).
Edit and proofread technical papers for nuclear
scientists of diverse origin. Correction of form,
grammar and content, based on my understanding of the
texts as established with the authors.
Liaise with contributing authors and the NEA
Publications Division.
Develop guidelines and support material for
assistants/contributing authors:
Established basic "Author Instructions" distributed to
meeting participants.
Created reference pages for administrative assistants.
In collaboration with the NEA Publications Division,
designed a publications template for the Nuclear Energy
Agency.
Regularly solicited by colleagues for formatting and
technical advice.
Spearheaded the move toward producing a greater number
of publications through the OECD internal documents
service (increasing my personal responsibility as a
result, final proofs requiring my approval).
Graphics experience put to use on marketing projects
(e.g. posters), as well as for the covers of certain
Data Bank/Nuclear Science publications.

Participated in the drafting and editing of a
"Regulatory Reform" brochure presented by the
Secretary-General of the OECD at the APEC Ministerial
Meeting on Structural Reform (August 2008). Solely
responsible for the layout and design of the brochure.

1996 Responsible for editing and formatting the English
version of Eurochemic: 1956-1990 ( OECD 1996, 627
pgs.). Altered original French graphics to incorporate
English translations (QuarkXPress), and improved the
overall quality of much of the artwork included in the
publication. Created a working index for the document.
Acted as liaison with the author, translator and layout
designer.
