Design of the first automated hydraulic fixturing Sieman's Cincinnati ever used for manufacturing, saving 8 hours of
machining and setup time.
Design of boroscope grinding tool to help in jet engine inspection and repair, resulting in a savings of 1 million
dollars in teardown and rebuild time per engine.
Implementation of new process to compile and assemble, build up parts lists, for test engine builds which helped to
reduce errors and costs in the final TEST build.
Expediting design, build & delivery of tooling for the F-117A stealth fighter engine repair program during "Desert
Storm" which reduced teardown and repair times for the Air Force.
Major cost reduction for the design & build of tools to both military and commercial customers.
Design of over 75 major tools for both military and commercial engine customers.
Tracking and delivery of over 200 tools to the USAF & USN.
Recently involved in the test builds for a new engine program for Air Force One and C5 cargo planes.

The position required learning about grinding operations using automated 5 axis grinders. Responsibilities included
purchasing and installation of 1.25 million dollars worth of equipment, management of 45 people, designing the work
cells, profile-grinding wheels, fixturing and related tooling. Extensive travel and customer or vendor interface was
part of the daily process. Position required the use of UNIGRAPHICS V11.3 & V13.2, WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS,

Manufacturing Engineer: Management of the tooling group consisting of 14 people that included the to ol
manufacturing personnel. Position required extensive on the floor problem solving, union interface and hands on
projects. Development and design of Siemens only Hydraulic Clamping Fixture for production work was the 1st

Senior CAD Design Engineer: Management of the tooling group consisting of 28 people who where responsible for
drawing translations from German to English, design of screw extruder die sets, hardware, installation planning,
tracking of customer projects from concept to start up, employee evaluations, hiring, computer/software needs and
interfacing with both the customer and manufacturing, which included extensive travel throughout the world. Also
helped to also establish a drawing control system and filing structure. Position also required the use of AutoCAD
V13.C4A, as well as WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, POWERPOINT and other software.
General Electric Aircraft Engines Marine & Industrial Division
Engineering Designer / Project Coordinator: Responsible for design of M & I engine hardware from initial concept
to finished installation. This also included but not limited to interaction with the outside design vendors and
manufacturing vendors as well as various engine assembly groups. Position required use of UNIGRAPHICS V10.5,
as well as PDMS, EDSARS, ENACT & UNIX.
General Electric Aircraft Engines Repair Development Operations
Engineering Design Specialist / Project Coordinator: Responsible for design and project coordination of repair
tooling for both military and commercial aircraft engine customers. Coord inating and engineering as many as 50-60
tools at a time was not unusual. This included engineering of tools, concept designs, checking, qualifying tools,
trouble shooting tool problems, estimating cost and delivery dates, writing documents, purchase orde rs, RFM's,
W A's, tech data & tool usage sheets, setting up meetings with customers & engineering, following the tool from
concept to final delivery and extensive contact with the customer or the outside vendors (usually involving travel).
Interfacing with manufacturing, other GEAE groups and having hands on time with the tools themselves was also
necessary. Using VersaCAD, UNIGRAPHICS, FORMTEK/RASTER, UNIX, DOS, WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS,
POWERPOINT, EDSARS, ENACT, and other required software was vital to the j ob function as well as extensive
travel for extended periods of time. Team building was a major function that was shared by all tooling personnel.
General Electric Aircraft Engines Support Operations
Engineering Designer: Responsible for design & developm ent of ground support equipment &
Assembly/Disassembly tools for both military and commercial customers. This included layout, assembly and detail
drawings, checking, direct vendor contact, interfacing with engineering both on and off -site, and learning SNECMA
standards. I also helped design vacuum bagging & autoclave tooling for composite coatings for the F118 program
(F117A & B2 Stealth Aircraft), & did concept tool designs for the YF -120 Tactical Fighter program. I also helped do
tooling for the GE90 W idebody Turbine and was part of an award winning design team involved with an LM6000
Marine Turbine project.
General Electric Aircraft Engines Tooling Group - In House
Engineering Designer / Detailer: Responsible for design, layout and detail drawings for ground support equipment
and shipping containers. I also did problem layout and design concepts on the CALMA/CAD computer system.
DuPont Corporation - In House
Engineering Designer / Detailer: Responsible for design & development, vendor contact and inst allation of plastic
filament's machinery, extrusion equipment, process piping, pressure vessels and production line equipment for
manufacturing both Stren and Prime fishing line as well as nylon filament for paint brushes, toothbrushes and weed
trimming equipment. This included doing the layout, assembly and detail drawings as well as checking other
designers work. Travel on a regular basis to the plant facilities in Parkersburg, W.Va. & Wilmington, DE was
necessary to do on-site measurements for machinery and piping placement locations.
