Deputy Logistics Chief 2010-Present

Oversees the activities and duties of eight area subordinate managers and

their services/department. Ensures coordination of supporting activities

with the Response Operations Section, and the Resource Planning and

Information Management Section(RPIM).

During the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill (MC252 Deep-sea Horizon), accomplishments

consisted of the following:

o Oversees the activities and duties of assigned subordinate managers. The

LC ensures coordination of supporting activities with the Response

Operations Section, and the RPIM. The Logistics section is responsible

for materially supporting all units involved in the response and

providing any assistance that is requested. Specifically, they provide

for communications, transportation, manpower supply, food and housing,

spill supplies and equipment, security services, and provide for the

medical needs of the respondersOversees the activities and duties of

assigned subordinate managers. The LC ensures coordination of supporting

activities with the Response Operations Section, and the RPIM. The

Logistics section is responsible for materially supporting all units

involved in the response and providing any assistance that is requested.

Specifically, they provide for communications, transportation, manpower

supply, food and housing, spill supplies and equipment, security

services, and provide for the medical needs of the responders. The

subordinate managers under the LC consist of the followingeputy

DEstablished lines of communication with the RPIM, OPS Chief, section

heads, managers, and contractors to ensure updates were provided on the

size of the oil spill and the probable material support need for the

spill.

o Developed and maintained an updated file on local service contractors,

catering services, hotel/motels, hospitals, and other service providers

to provide support under contract in the event of an emergency response

event.

o Coordinated the selection of the staging areCoordinate the selection of

the staging area with the RPIM and the Staging Area Manager for

directions in delivery and for off-loading equipment and supplies.

Maintain a log of equipment and supplies ordered and delivered for the

Finance Sectiona with the RPIM and the Staging Area Manager for

directions in delivery for off-loading 500 pieces of equipment and over

1000 line items in supplies.

o Monitored the progress of 30 million dollars of material and service

support to ensure supplies and services were being adequately provided

throughout the spill response.

o Conducted an After Action Review to initiate an After Action Report for

submission to the RPIM concerning quantity and quality of supplies and

services used on the response including responsiveness, an evaluation of

the contractors in fulfillment of their duties, and a summary of the

overall effectiveness of the Logistics Unit in support of the response

o Worked closely with the Finance section to maintain a supply of credit

cards, petty cash, and purchase order forms, and ensured a log of the

supplies ordered and received were submitted to Finance I a timely

manner for validation of payments to suppliers and contractors.

layouts, utilizing ICS process to establish procedures per daily

operational needs. Establish filing system for supply and equipment

receiving and distribution, maintaining inventory. Conduct asset tracking

and cataloging requisition for close-out. Supervise Field Material

Coordinator staff.

o Optimized operations for company by interfacing with senior leadership

to standardize receiving and distribution

policies and practices for 7 separate locations.

developing document control section that was not previously part of ICS

Championed improvement of base life support needs including water

production, sanitation, base housing, equipment maintenance, power

generation, materials supply chain, and logistics. Directed overall

strategy regarding logistics, customer service, and warehouse and inbound

and outbound transportation management. Operated as project management

liaison when establishing client services including scopes of work and

letters of technical direction. Supervised 25 department managers and staff

o Improved company's operations in diverse locations including Iraq and

Directed daily operations of material warehousing programs, including

budgeting, short- and long-term planning, sub-contract analytical and

confidential administrative tasks; facilitating warehousing, materials

control, and purchasing. Oversaw $30M+ of serviceable materials consisting

of numerous materials and various commodities and 120 staff including 2

warehouse managers and 39 inventory control specialists. Ensured smooth

Controlled Laundry Services Department which supported 14 U.S. Army Camps

and civilian customers. Directed 48 expatriates and 500 subcontractors in

daily operations, providing laundry care for over 64K pounds of clothing
