Work Experience
Pace Industries (Process Consultant-Die Casting/Tooling Specialist) Auburn, AL 2008 – Feb 2010
Assist with activities concerned with development in applications and maintenance of tooling for manufacturing
processes and products. Accountable for training die technicians in proper die setup and proper die maintenance.
Accountable for the approval of all sample product runs and processes of die tools and die inserts. Assist
Engineering Manager in managing tooling automations dealing with lubrication die placement. Spearheaded and
analyzed the process of tooling failures and the implementation and writing of standard operation policy to reduce
or eliminate frequency in tooling failures. Accountable for scrap reduction, solder issues, water issues, and die
flashing. Accountable for writing standard operation policies on correct die changes to reduce changeover times,
downtimes and cycle times to increase production.
ALP Lighting (Production Manager/Metal Stamping Division) Lithia Springs, GA 2004 - 2008
Oversee and direct all aspect of production, fabrications and quality. Conducted and implement a Toyota
Production System (TPS) to tackle efficiency and quality issues by reducing inventory levels, reducing waste,
implementing a “pull system” to avoid overproducing, and creating a continuous process flow to discover existing
problems. In-turn over a five months span has increased efficiency from a 70 to an 87 percent average. Helped
conduct and implement 5S housekeeping tactics that has saved the company over $100,000 in unnecessary
company work force expenses, in over a year’s time. Has constantly worked with all departments to reduce
overall cost companywide in all cost centers, while working to develop and implement new testing methods to
reduce scrap and quality cost tremendously.
Fresh Express (Production Manager/Food Processing) Carrollton, GA 2002 – 2004
Accountable for the overall activities of a functional process area such as safety, customer services, (internal and
external) quality control, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and productivity. Able to develop systems and
processes to manage continuous improvement of key indicators such as: per man-hours, downtime reduction,
yields, response time, recordable accident rates, and facility food safety audit rates. Launched and implemented
a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program for a check and balance system corporate wide while working with the
accounting and quality departments to develop a sound system. In-turn has increased internal audits from 66 to a
90 percent pass rate, by developed and trained lower and upper management on a uniformed method for
ongoing and future training toward better business practices and internal audits. Developed and taught a
secondary quality control system, that has reduced downtime by a substantially amount and increased
production from 22,000 lbs to 35,000 lbs average. Very involved in material requirements planning (MRP),
environmental protection agency program (EPA), and international standard organization (ISO9000:2000) quality
daily meetings to ensure in the reductions of cost and develop future projects and goals.
Briggs & Stratton (Production Manager/ Die Casting & Assembly) Statesboro, GA 1996 - 2002
With knowledge of lean manufacturing and industrial trends, this has allowed great success in running two total
different departments in Aluminum Die-casting (injection molding) and Assembly. Working closely with 9
supervisors and maintenance personnel has insured quality and on-time delivery to our customers. Never shying
away from constant positions of increasing responsibility and routine correspondence has give a wide range of
knowledge, that has commanded respect from among peers and upper management. While improving company
morale, diminishing overtime, and turnover rates by 10 percent, has sparked an increase in productivity by 30
percent within six months time. In 6 months time, with years experience has allowed in great strides to reduce
downtime throughout all departments by improvements in scheduling and scheduling of preventive maintenance.
While also working with engineering to correct capacity rates and improve and monitor cycle counts, saving the
company over $250,000 in outside technician support and has increased efficiency.
