Working as a consultant at client American Express in the Service Oriented

Architecture (SOA) organization on the Integration Services team.

Responsible for working with service consumers and providers to advise them

on best practices for service creation and modification. Duties include

creating service artifacts such as XMLSchema, WSDL, Service Interface and

Transformation documentation as well as registering services and artifacts

in internal repository. Previously worked on the Global Data Access

Solutions (GDAS) team in the role of a technical lead and subject matter

expert on the GDAS application, which is an IMS MPP online data retrieval

system. This application processes cardmember requests from the American

Express web site and returns source data to the user. It is written in

COBOL and accesses IMS and DB2 databases as well as consuming services

exposed by the source system provider. Duties included the following:

creating design and overseeing development of multiple client projects,

providing guidance and mentoring for other team members, authorization to

make technical decisions for the team regarding design, build and

implantation issues, serving as point of escalation for production issues

where the production support team needs assistance. Other responsibilities

include development and implementation of changes to the GDAS application

for infrastructure upgrades and performance optimization.

Lead Programmer: 3/2002 - 9/2003 - The Bayern Company, Inc., Scottsdale AZ

Worked as a lead programmer on an accounting and inventory control software

product, which is designed for companies in the steel industry. Duties

include the following: communicating with customers to gather requirements

for custom software enhancements, preparing specifications for programming

projects, training and reviewing the work of junior programmers, providing

timely status reports to senior management, and preparing, documenting and

coordinating new releases of the software. Other responsibilities include

the programming of software enhancements and bug fixes using RM/COBOL and

RM/PANELS. Also developed an automated application that will update the

data files of the software product from an ACCESS database.

Worked as developer at client American Express on two projects. Most

recent duties include developing an online data retrieval process in the

Interactive Technologies department. This is an IMS MPP application which

is called from the Web to access cardmember information on the mainframe.

It reads both IMS and DB2 data stores. Previously, developed an API which

was called by application conditioning jobs to

provide run-to-run controls for data loaded into a Data Warehouse. This

consisted of MVS COBOL/DB2 programs which updated tables on an AIX DB2 UDB

database using DRDA. Responsibilities included data mapping, coding and

testing, implementing and supporting changes as well as communicating with

developers of interfacing systems and change management personnel.

Sr. Analyst Programmer: 9/1990 - 9/1995 - Aetna Life and Casualty,

Hartford, CT

Duties included programming enhancements to a Data Warehouse using SQL on a

UNIX platform. This SYBASE database contained holdings and credit

information for several asset types. Also developed procedure to automate

loading of vendor reel tapes using VAX/FOCUS resulting in a savings of four

programmer days per month. Other duties included interacting with

Investment Professionals by conducting research and programming user

reports to provide day-to-day business solutions.

Responsible for developing and implementing a cooperative processing Client

Directory system for the marketing department. Duties included analyzing
