MANAGER

Seeking further Research and Development, Manufacturing, Mechanical Project

engineering and/or, product engineering systems leadership opportunities

for overall operations, concept design, research, systems, process

improvement, stress analysis, risk mitigation and advanced material

application including heat treatments and plating, for new and existing

systems and consumer products, while incorporating design for

manufacturing, robust design, rapid prototyping and optimization techniques

to reduce cost. Fully competent engineer in cutting edge technology for

multiple disciplines of engineering. Has conducted independent evaluations

of systems and selected and adapted solutions from present and future

technology using standard methods of comparison. Has developed new

approaches to complex problems that consider eco-impact, human factors and

cost.

Engineering systems examined, have included solar and wind generation, Li-

ion and Li-poly battery energy storage, Charge methods and equipment,

Hybrid electric vehicle systems and modeling. Experienced in managing teams

in private large and small business environments. Thirteen years

engineering experience specializing in mechanical and manufacturing design,

problem solving, facilitating and motivating others while designing,

implementing and developing proof-of-concept projects for a research and

the real life environment. Manufacturing experience includes job shop and

repetitive manufacturing of machined components, which includes, large and

small weldments to specific requirements, military design, build, testing

and verification of components and weapons systems, while building long-

term business development relationships with customers and staff. Hold a

current DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Sr. Engineer/Scientist, Advanced Armaments Group (Research and Development)

. Project engineer leader, manager, and designer, responsible for many

very large capital construction projects as well as product

development. These projects have included the integration of a 10-

meter, 5 axis, Ingersoll milling machine into building plans and

facility design. I was the company point of contact

for installation. Designed and supplied engineering

technical support to the construction firms to insure

the schedule was met.

. Sole designer of a BAE Systems, Inc, Manufacturing facility in

Cordova, Alabama. This included power requirements specification and

working with internal and external electricians and utilities and

substation requirements as well as equipment placement and safety

requirements

. Designed the MEVT (Mission Equipment Vibration Table), the largest

shaker in the world, for reliability testing of large components. (6

DOF capable) in the world.

. Designed the LAH (Large Armament Hammer) to simulate Gun recoil and

it's affects on other equipment used by TACOM, ARDEC and the Navy for

reliability improvement testing under the Future Combat Systems and

other contracts.

. Chairman's Award: For the Innovative design and integration at the

Cordova manufacturing facility.

. Cadre of Distinction Award: Army Programs, for Design of the Mission

Equipment Vibration Table (MEVT) and

the Large Armament Hammer.

. Project Engineer, Project Manager responsible for all the invention,

concept design and development of the Projectile Kinetic Energy

Reduction System (PKERS).

. Completed wind tunnel tests on PKERS at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton,

OH and NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia.

. Managed all processes and test plans as well as establishing new

business relationships.

. Designed all fabrication processes, tooling, fixtures and

manufacturing processes and requirements to meet or exceed necessary

DOD standards and safety requirements.

. Presented papers at the 38th and 39th Annual Guns and Ammunition

Symposium, Full Spectrum Warfare, Undersea Warfare, and Mortar

conferences to introduce PKERS to the defense community.

. Built business relationships with the Army, Marine Corp, and the Navy.

PKERS project.

large caliber gun equipment for the U.S. Navy Destroyer program

including reliability, safety compliance, FFF (Form Fit Function)

Compliance for all design changes across the fleet. This includes

military design standards, the application of proper notes, drawing

compliance and evaluating vendor capabilities and experience in new

and appropriate corrective actions to insure compliance with the

required technical data package. Standards include specific Mil

standard specification application, material grades, heat treatments,

coatings, proper inspection and safety testing to qualify equipment.

Also included is the application of proper rigging, lift fixture

design, test and qualification for operation.

. Developed new method and process for large gear manufacture using CNC

Wire EDM machine, CAD/CAM software and AutoCAD.
