Ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of spare parts for IBM and
other Non-IBM customers.
There are 19 applications in CPPS system. India Support team currently
handles four important applications called COINS, CLARS, WMS, and RRS.
COINS application looks after the financial handling of CPPS and is a
Production Support team for its client IBM Netherlands. The returns are
taken care by RRS application and WMS manages the entire warehouse
management processes. CLARS involves in registering the parts, which comes
into the warehouse. The India team has one person per application as a
first point of contact person, who is responsible for maintaining and
supporting their respective application.
My core responsibilities in this system include,
First point of contact for CLARS application.
Co-ordinate with the client to gather specifications for enhancements.
Design, Develop, Test and Implement enhancements to the existing modules.
Trouble-shoot daily job abends that involve with CLARS and other
application supported by the India team.

This is a reverse engineering project. The client WELL - POINT Insurance,
USA had 30 systems on mainframes. These systems were converted from
Mainframes to Open-systems in the Phase I of the project.The mainframe is
searched for all the programs, JCLs, PROCs, etc and downloaded. This set of
programs, JCLs and PROCs are captured into the SEEC tool. SEEC tool is used
to generate various reports like a) Program summary report b) Program
hierarchy chart c) Data-base summary. Job flow diagram will be attached to
the JCL document.
My core responsibilities include,
As a System Analyst, I was responsible for maintaining the Quality of the
Requirement Specification document.
Translate and document the functionality of the program for the Phase II
development.
Verify the hierarchy chart and the Job flow diagrams associated with JCL.
