The position was one that was developed to address the need for on-line and

SEO in the local small business community. I developed a solutions based

approach that involved lead generation, assessment of status, problem

solution development, plan formulation, presentation of plan and finally

solution deployment. Activities

Territory Manager

09/2008 - 01/2010 Superior Hardwoods Montezuma, IN

The position involved marketing and sales of hardwood lumber in full or

mixed truckload quantities to businesses in a territory that was spread out

over a number of states or about 1/4th of the country.

I developed and renewed relationships with customers and prospects.

Established methods for client contact and relationship following that were

new to Superior. Management to deal with low customer retention had been an

issue for Superior sales staff and managers had been charged

with recovery responsibilities. I implemented market techniques that

included email campaign that also utilized enhanced Web electronic

advertising. Introduced the use of product based blogs along with timely

industry updates and "useful free" {additional valuable} information within

the content. The result of this was a notable enhancement in participating

sales and manager standing in the industry and their territory.

I developed graphic product demonstrations as links in e-mail & tweets.

This was both in the form of videos hosted on YouTube as well as still

pictures hosted on Twitter connected sites. There were also larger text

based ads on Twitter connected sites, specifically ow.ly and twit.pic.

From 2003 to 2007 the company operated as sales agency and wholesaler. In

2007 the company started manufacturing it's own product. The products were

being sold to high-end flooring companies. I owned the company and either

performed or hired to perform all purchasing sales and management

functions.

I co-developed "cost plus, manufacturing partnership" business model where

customers assumed the risk of a variable cost environment. They were also

at times the actual purchaser of raw material but it went through our

inventory and manufacturing process. This required an element of trust not

often found in converting operations.

I developed Share-point sites for use with these customers allowing them to

see what we were being offered to buy, inventory status, production

schedules and results. This happened automatically on the sites and

"alerts" were sent automatically by e-mail. Near real time information.

I developed national representation status with Hardwood Solutions, a

premier parts manufacturer with a focus on production metrics.

Launched new dimension manufacturing business based on past sales/mfg.

experience. My responsibilities included but not limited to all machinery

purchases & installation, lumber purchasing, production schedules,

production efficiency and off fall usage, waste reduction,

Billing / invoices and all HR responsibilities.
