design, TI MSP430 uC with additional external SRAM, dial-up modem and
cellular communication options, RS 485 LAN for multiple monitor
capability, wireless option for LAN, temperature probe, RS232 DEX
interface, optically coupled MDB serial interface to read machine
data, expansion serial ports, various status indicators, and on board
power supply including buck mode dc/dc converter.
. Audio board with passband filters, transmit & receive analog muxes,
and switched gain control.
. Low power payphone console with smartcard/chipcard reader, credit card
reader designed with low cost comparator & op amp, LCD display,
extended keypad, audio amplifiers, and discrete design, low power,
boost mode power supply.
. Battery backup for cellular payphone including temperature compensated
lead-acid battery charger with current limiter, thermal shutoff for
charger, override for thermal shutoff, low voltage shutoff, and power
fail detector.
. Low power electronic coin acceptor.
. Microprocessor controlled low speed modem for an electronic AC power
meter.
. Residential and business telephones with electronic speech circuits,
auto-dialers, electronic ringers, hold circuit, speakerphone,
