Resume:

Profile

I am a loyal and dedicated individual. I have worked in the orthopedic

industry for 20 years. I have been in the R&D machining area for 17 years.

I have worked directly with engineers building and designing custom medical

instruments and testing prototypes.

Experience

R&D Machinist A, Biomet, Warsaw, IN --- 1994-present

Evaluate blueprints, devise processes, and manufacture prototype and custom

instrumentation for the orthopedic field using an array of equipment

including manual and CNC lathes, manual and CNC mills, and wire EDMs. Use

Unigraphics NX6 CAD/CAM software to design and modify 3D models, generate G-

CODE programs for various machines, and obtain information for dimensioning

specifications. Responsible for obtaining and tracking material needed for

project completion, including titanium, various stainless steels, and

plastics. Teach and train fellow employees who are interested in learning

better ways to complete their own projects. Work with little to no

supervision.

machinist a,b, and c, biomet, warsaw, in - 1991-1994

Started as an entry-level machine operator to produce parts within

blueprint specifications. Began learning more advanced skills and

programming, along with gaining set-up experience.

lead person, western-wheel, huntington, in - 1987-1991

Began as a paint-line employee, quickly advancing to a machining department

where I learned set-up skills and CNC programming. Became lead person

responsible for troubleshooting and set up of various CNC lathe and welding

equipment.

Education

High school graduate 1986, CNC programming classes at IVY TECH, and courses

in Unigraphics NX6 thru my employer.

Skills

Knowledgable in manual and CNC lathes, manual and CNC mills, wire EDM

machines. Including, Okuma lathes and mills, Bridgeport/Prototrak milling

machines, Haas mills, Mitsubishi and Charmilles wire EDM. Worked some on

Robodrill mills.

Use UG NX6 to model from scratch, modify existing models, and basic

drafting.

Also use UG NX6 to generate G-CODE programming, including cavity milling,

planer milling, contour milling, straight and UV EDM cutting. I have some

knowledge in high-speed milling.

Projects, large and small, are issued as blueprints and CAD files. I turn

them into parts and assemblies. I pride myself in my ability to do that in

a very efficient and timely manner. I coordinate my operations with my

teammates who work alongside me doing their own projects. I am typically

the go-to person for advice and instruction, as I have always taken it upon

myself to learn new things.

achievement

Nearly twenty years of continuous employment.
