Extensive professional experience in the application of the sustainability
agenda in the built and natural environment sector. Responsible for
developing and delivering business plans, leading research, recruiting
staff and growth of businesses and organisations. Provided evidence based
research and consultancy on a broad range of products including sustainable
construction and procurement, climate change adaptation and mitigation,
sustainable communities, strategic environmental assessment, air quality,
noise monitoring and modelling.
Key Achievements
. Developed and delivered TRL's Resource Management group's and
Northwest Regional Office's business plans.
. Successfully met the groups' financial targets by growing business and
exploiting existing skills and products in new markets, e.g.
technology transfer between the construction and aviation sectors.
. Developed successful funding proposals for UK research councils, EU,
local authorities and UK Government
. Successfully bid for more than 2M of research and consultancy project
on sustainable construction.
. Led and successfully delivered national and international
collaborative research programmes and frameworks on sustainable
construction.
. Led international knowledge transfer projects funded by Global
Foundation (Japan) and the European Commission's Framework Programme

Group Manager/North West Regional Manager
Led the Natural Resource Management Group at the Berkshire head office of
TRL. Provided technical leadership to key research and consultancy
projects. Undertook business development and key customer management.
Responsible for the day to day management of staff and personnel
development. From May 2008, was responsible for setting up TRL's new
office in Manchester. Developed and delivered business plans, led
research, recruited staff and grew the business.
