JOULE TECHNICAL STAFFING, INC., Edison, NJ
2010 Industrial Engineer – Hired to provide temporary Industrial Engineering support to
Pharmaceutical client with their Continuous Improvement efforts.
• Provided New Blister Packaging Equipment strategy which included defining projected requirements,
specifications, and projected savings of over $600k.
• Performed line studies of bottle packaging line & identified potential process improvements of over $1 million.
HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE, INC., Nutley, NJ 1999 to
2010 Senior Pharmaceutical Engineer – Initially hired by pharmaceutical manufacturer to provide
Industrial Engineering support for its Totowa Antibiotic facility which later expanded to include Sterile
and Tablet/ Capsule Manufacturing/Packaging operations. Assisted the company in planning, directing,
and monitoring manufacturing operations; implementing process improvements; monitoring and
controlling production costs; forecasting labor requirements; determining cost reduction opportunities and
managing the activities of major projects. This included the periodic training and mentoring of Co-Op
engineers.
• Managed several Green Belt Projects including the optimization of the Material Handling steps from Coating
through Packaging which reduced non-value activities realizing annual savings of $135K.
• Completed Green Belt Project that optimized Kit Packaging by utilizing distribution packaging concepts,
automation, and the elimination of ergonomic issues saving $270K annually.

1999 Senior Project/Industrial Engineer - Recruited by pharmaceutical /consumer manufacturer to
create its first corporate Industrial Engineering department. Assisted the company in planning, directing,
and monitoring manufacturing operations; implementing process improvements; monitoring and
controlling production costs; determining cost reduction opportunities and managing the activities of
major projects. Provided direct support to domestic plants and special requests from international
facilities.
• Developed Cost Reduction Program and identified projects with labor and material savings of over $5 million.
• Recommended and Directed the Implementation of a Statistical Weighing System for Fill-Weight Control
providing both annual material and repeat purchase savings totaling $1 million.
• Designed and Directed the Implementation of a PC based Production Reporting System for five domestic plants
providing initial annual labor savings of $100K.

Automated Conveyor/Sortation Systems, Auto Stretch-Wrapping & Palletization, WMS, Radio Frequency, and
