GOALS
. To work for an organization that makes a strong statement
about sustainability in both their projects and their
work place.
QUALIFICATIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS
Teamwork:
. Working with USGBC of Central Ohio and BX of Central Ohio
to develop an education program for LEED-AP's continuing
education credits.
. Created a central location in the estimating department
where the lead estimator assembled bids, monitored
support staff and sorted quotes, while management
monitored the progress without interference.
. Part of team that prepared the documents to apply for a
LEED certification of Silver or Gold at the local office
Problem Solving Ability:
. Double hung windows where budgeted for an eight story
apartment building, but would not meet the wind load.
Resourced window requirements and working with owner,
architect and supplier I was able find windows that met
wind requirements and maintained the budget.
. Lowering the floor elevation and reducing the quantity of
imported fill at Veteran's Administration Clinic we where
able to save over $100,000.00. With this and other
changes the project was now within budget.
. With my personal investigation, I found that roof leak
was the problem rather than masonry flashing which saved
hospital $165,000 in masonry repairs.
. To maintain a tight site budget at a school site I worked
with the design team to eliminate the double handling of
material on a balanced site by reworking the design into
two stages. By eliminating having to handle the
controlled fill twice we saved the owner $40,000.00.
Management, Leadership and Supervision:
. As the project coordinator for a new corporate
headquarters I was able to keep the design and early site
work progressing to a point that when the superintendent
arrived the project was a week ahead of schedule in both
the design phase and construction.
. Working as project manager and estimator, along with
architect, owners and historical consultant to coordinate
the conversion an existing hospital into senior living
facility and city offices, while preserving the builds
historical registration and maintaining the tax credits.
. As the project coordinator for a new corporate
headquarters I was able to keep the design and early site
work progressing to a point that when the superintendent
arrived the project was a week ahead of schedule in both
the design phase and construction.

Senior Estimator Pre-Construction, Bovis Lend Lease, Columbus,
OH Off, 2003 - 2010
. I developed a system by which we where able to research
the bid results from K-12 schools in Ohio. This allowed
Bovis to compare our estimates to schools of similar size
and type.
. Worked with design team, owners and management groups to
arrive at and maintain an acceptable budget
. Coordinated assistance from other offices in putting
budgets together in a timely manor to meet owner's
deadline.
. As a member of the sustainability peer group we assisted
other associates to become LEED-AP. 20% of the associates
in the local office are currently LEED-AP.
. The local office was able to divert/recycle 72% of site
construction waste at all projects.
