Ent rusted with the regulatory compliance of operations and facilities in accordance
w ith the OSHA Corporate Settlement Agreement with United Parcel Service.
E nsured processes were in place or existing processes were improved to facilitate the
general safety compliance of operations and facilities in accordance with the Code of
Federal Regulations. Assessed, evaluated and implemented processes, which
i nsured the skill and knowledge level of personnel responsible for the containment,
removal and disposal of, damaged hazardous material shipments. Developed and
evaluated methodology utilized to maintain the safety compliance t raining of all
employees on a district-wide basis.
I mplemented process improvements plans that resulted in the increase of internal
and external regulatory compliance audits from an average of 83.2% to 95.7 %.
P rocess improvement plans also yielded results of hazardous material responder
results from 88.3% to 99.7%.
Results t ranslated into regulatory compliance results that were below industry
s tandards to regulatory compliance results that were above industry standards.
I ndiana District improved from a Corporate Health & Safety ranking of 46 in 2007
to 7 in 2009.

I mplemented process improvement plans that resulted in the decrease of cost per
p iece from $.054 to $.032 per day, which t ranslated to improving operating
leverage by $1,200.00 per day.
Service indices improved from 1/13 to 1/125 error frequency.
Safety incident indices were improved from 125.6 % to 13.2 %.
T his Sort Operation improved from a least good definition to a best in class
definition within three months of implementation of process improvements.

operations. Progress improvement entailed assessing and scheduling of programs to facilitate that skill and

responsibilities was a primary focus. Establishing the goals of the work groups that comprised the
