on experience in spearheading the development, implementation and
management of EHS management systems, auditing EHS activities to
provide leadership/guidance in promoting solutions to high-tech
manufacturing operations and applications, which leads to regulatory
compliance, reduction in workers' compensation cost and increase efficiency
and productivity.
SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Teamed with production and manufacturing engineers to develop and
implement an ergonomics awareness program involving training and
physical exercising, saving $300K in workers' compensation cost.
. Implemented the transition from a toxic cleaning solvent application
to soap and water automated cleaning application saving $160K
annually, and streamlined operations for Crane Aerospace to eliminated
10 permitted applications, and10 employees. This project required:
o Brainstorming the feasibility of a prototype system that would
clean parts, and PC boards of a specific size without using a
toxic solvent and familiarity with AQMD's rules 219, 1171 and
1122.
o Researching various types of cleaning solutions for product
design and life cycle abilities
o Teamwork and collaboration with engineers, consultants, vendors,
users and regulatory agencies
o Selling and getting buy-in from stakeholders for the project
o Implementing an innovative prototype system which utilized
ultrasonic and high temperature to clean parts with basic soap
and water and eliminated the use of toxic chemicals.
. Developed and implemented HAZMAT and hazardous waste management
systems, to include profiling, and comingling of waste streams into
generic and non-hazardous steams description for manifesting, saving
$10K.
. Developed and implemented site's BIA/BCP (disaster recovery plan) and
carried out disaster simulation scenarios.
. Carried out spatial modifications of work cells in accordance with
OSHA's, life safety code and building code.
. Supported cross-functional process improvement teams (e.g., engineers,
users, consultants, contractors, and vendors).
. Delisted 130K gallons of wastewater from hazardous category to non-
hazardous, saving $100K.
