I have served in the electro-mechanical and wireless communication
industries as a quality professional for over 25 years. I have a solid
working knowledge of various industry standards and computer applications.
I was certified through the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) as an ISO
9001 QMS Lead Auditor for eight years, I worked as a contract ISO 9001 Lead
Auditor for the Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) Registrar, and
I am currently certified as an AS9100 Lead Auditor.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS:
Installed and maintained several internal quality management systems that
achieved ISO 9001 certification. Conducted numerous ISO 9001 supplier
surveys and provided valuable information and assistance to those suppliers
in the development and implementation of their own ISO 9001 compliant
quality management systems.
Developed and maintained contractual quality requirements, quality system
manuals, plans, policies, procedures, metrics and reports necessary to
comply with customer, government, engineering, and international standards.
Utilized six sigma methodologies to determine process capabilities,
establish process control limits and to monitor the effects of process
changes.
Traveled to Asia and Europe to audit suppliers, implement supplier defect
reduction programs and resolve quality issues impacting major customers.
Founded the American Society for Just-In-Time (JIT) Suppliers (1988) -
whose charter was to provide membership, training, monthly publications,
company tours, and consulting to local businesses interested in
implementing TOYOTA's Just-In-Time production system, which included Lean
Manufacturing and 5S techniques.

Responsibilities included ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and CMMI
level 5 requirements within the division. Provided daily management
oversight to ten (10) Quality and Configuration Management professionals;
provided QA input to customer RFP's; assisted program managers in the
development, implementation and maintenance of various program plans;
developed quality requirements and plans for managing subcontractors;
provided QA support to the manufacturing function through product and
process audits, personnel training, performance metrics, and timely
corrective actions. I interfaced regularly with customers and government
representatives, through process action teams (PATS) and periodic quality
review meetings. And I implemented process improvements based on the
analysis of performance data and internal QMS audit results.
Accomplishments include the development, implementation, and maintenance of
five (5) ISO 9001:2000 compliant QMS at the Operation and Division levels
within SAIC that achieved third-party certification.

Supplier Quality Engineer
Responsibilities included qualification and maintenance of numerous
suppliers, who provided various commodities used in the production of
portable ruggedized computers for government applications.
Accomplishments included on-site technical support of "Key" suppliers which
involved daily status meetings, qualification testing, new product design
reviews, manufacturing process controls, inspection checklists, acceptance
test procedures, and final authorization of finished products.

Senior Engineer, Corporate Quality
Responsibilities included supplier, process, and product qualifications,
defect reductions, and technical assistance to high volume suppliers and
AST computer manufacturing sites worldwide. I represented the Corporate
Quality Assurance Department in technical meetings involving suppliers,
engineers, and customers.
Accomplishments included ISO 9002 supplier qualification audits in Asia and
Europe, followed by the development and implementation of a defect
reduction plan, in Taiwan, that reduced defects from 38,000 DPM to 4,000
DPM in the first thirty days. This plan included: on-site surveys,
personnel training, identification of critical parameters, performance
measurements, correlation of inspection techniques, enhanced
communications, and team building through personal commitments and
continuous improvement techniques.

Responsibilities included the selection and management of suppliers and in-
house inspection personnel necessary to achieve on-time delivery of defect
free products (PCB, PCBA, Sheet metal, Cable, Plastic, Peripherals, Etc.)
used in manufacturing industrial computers.
Accomplishments included the development and implementation of a QMS that
achieved ISO 9001 certification, and a supplier certification (Dock-To-
Stock) program made possible through the commitments, training and
empowerment of the entire receiving inspection staff.
