EXPERIENCE

CAD/CAM, EDM, Tool & Die Engineer - SPM (SEMX Corp) www.sempck.com -

. Manage CAD/CAM, CNC Wire EDM, and new tooling processes.

. Coordinate and oversee new tooling operations from design to production.

. Advanced AutoCAD skills, including interface customization, profile

configuration, custom commands and LISP programming.

. Create all CAD drawings required for the fabrication of progressive dies

and compound dies. Revise drawings as needed.

. Provide company-wide CAD support. Create drawings for various

applications. Assist sales and production control departments with

customer CAD drawings & tooling issues.

. Collaborate with Director of Manufacturing, Stamping Manager, and

diemakers on die design and modification, trouble-shooting, and

improving die performance.

. Communicate with customers to resolve design and part drawing issues.

condition of tooling, and to reduce down time.

. Help achieve longer production runs by upgrading die components with

carbide, powdered steel, and punch coatings. Monitor and log die

activity and performance.

. Develop standard sizes for families of die components enabling

preparation of workpieces in advance and maintaining stock,

significantly reducing lead time.

. Automate CNC programming process by customizing CAM software with

productivity macros, using macro command language with variables,

conditionals, loops, arrays, and dialogs.

. Program and set up CNC Wire EDMs to produce precision stamping die

components. Fine tune machining parameters to achieve high level of

accuracy required.

. Program and set up CNC vertical milling center for tool steel and

graphite applications. Create master tool library storing speeds and

feeds.

. Optimize machine usage, reduce setup time, and increase unattended

machining time.

. Modify and fine tune CNC code generator module of CAM software.

. Store die specifications and CAD/CAM file information in database. Use

queries and filters to quickly locate records.

. Select and purchase stamping die components, tool steel, machine parts

and supplies, and specialty end mills.

. Perform PC software installation and configuration, set up of file

sharing, security and drive mapping, and file backups.

. Perform machine maintenance and repairs, train personnel to program, set

up, and operate CNC Wire EDMs.

. Advance skills and find answers with effective use of the Internet,

email user forums and newsletters.
