March 2007 – Present: Principal at Global Safety Management Consultants, San Ramon,

services representing the owner (Solyndra Inc.) $400 million, Front End Solar Panel

Fabrication facility in Fremont, CA. Implemented Injury Free Culture on this 24/7

OCIP project resulting in cost savings due to reduced injury and incident rates

(Rudolph & Sletten as GC)

• Provided Environmental, Health & Safety Program/Project Management

services representing the owner (Solyndra Inc.) $100 million Back End Solar Panel

Fabrication facility in Fremont, CA. Included demolition and reconstruction of an

existing 500,000 square foot manufacturing facility with a 24/7 schedule. Implemented

Injury Free Culture on project resulting in < 1.0 RIR. (Rudolph & Sletten as GC)

• Provided mid-project Environmental, Health & Safety Consulting and Injury

Free Cultural Development on The $9 billion CityCenter project Las Vegas, NV.

Responded in crisis mode after project experienced numerous fatalities. Extremely

challenging project with over 9,000 construction workers on site, 6 high rise buildings

and major infrastructure. Utilized proven L2IFE© program elements to influence

cultural change and improve management’s safety leadership capabilities resulting in a

75% drop in injury rates. (Perini Building Company as GC)

• Provided Safety Program & Cultural Assessments, along with facilitating 3

Injury Free Cultural Workshops for the $500 Million LA Live and $200 Million

Hollywood & Vine Projects in Los Angeles, supporting Webcor Inc. (GC).

• Provided complete Environmental Health & Safety, Cultural and High Hazard

program improvements for the ~350 employee Contra Costa Water District in

Concord, CA.

• Developed numerous construction based Environmental, Health & Safety

training programs for ClickSafety (web-based construction the safety training)

including first online version of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Safety

Trained Supervisor 30 hour course and the USACE, EM385-1-1 safety manual.

October 1996 - March 2007: World Wide Construction Environmental, Health &

Safety Manger, Intel Corp., 2200 Mission College, Santa Clara, CA.

• Responsible for overseeing the Environmental, Health and Safety program for

all of Intel Corporations construction projects worldwide. On average, these were $2-

$3 billion annually of high hazard and technically challenging projects located in ~12

countries.

Performance (RIR <1.0) in 1999 across all construction projects worldwide and

sustained that performance through my departure in 2007. Intel received the National

Safety Council’s “Green Cross Award” in 2003 and was recognized as the world leader

in construction safety performance.

1984 - 1996 EHS, QA/QC & Emergency Response Manager, Huntway Refining

Company, Valencia, CA. (Wilmington, CA/Coolidge, AZ/Benicia, CA)

• Responsible for Environmental Health & Safety, QA/QC for all product

streams, Emergency Response, Oil Spill Response for Marine Operations, and Liaison

with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies.

• Provide management oversight for all new construction including design,

construction, commissioning and operation of a 40,000 BBL/day crude oil refinery in

Coolidge, AZ.

• Responsibilities included planning for refinery retrofit and turnaround projects,

research, development and construction of military jet fuel production and first to

market polymerized asphalt paving products.

1974 - 1984 Refinery Process Unit Operator, Safety Coordinator, Trainer Texaco,

Inc. (Wilmington, CA.)

• Responsible for and experienced in all

aspects of safe operation of Crude Oil Processing, Fluid Catalytic Cat Cracker,

Catalytic Reformer/Hydrogen Treating, High Pressure Boilers, Cooling Towers, Water

& Waste Water Treatment and Waste Gas Turbine Co-Generation facilities.

• As Trainer and Safety Coordinator,

developed emergency response training manuals and provided safety oversight of the

demolition of process units and construction/start up commissioning of two Waste Gas

Turbine Steam/Electric Co-Generation units.
