an Electronic Technician and Instrument and Control Technician in electric
power plants. (Multiple skills were required.) Duties include:
installation, maintenance, configuration, calibration, testing and upgrades
of power plant control and support systems (Analog, Digital, DCS and
PLC's), analog, digital and pneumatic transmitters, controllers,
dataloggers, data recorders, CCTV, environmental monitoring, wastewater
treatment systems, control valves, various mechanical actuators and servo
systems. Maintained GE Mark1 and MDT-20 EHC systems. Maintained jet
generator control and monitoring systems. Worked as assistant/backup LAN
administrator. Built replacement circuits and test equipment for obsolete
support and control systems. Worked temporary I&C assignments in nuclear
plants.
07/74 to 01/87: General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division - Groton, Ct.
Employed as a Test Operating Engineer. Coordinated installation and
supervised testing of missile launcher systems and support equipment aboard
Poseidon and Trident nuclear submarines, both in shipyard and on sea
trials. Conducted troubleshooting, as needed. Created system drawings and
troubleshooting procedures used by Navy technicians for missile launcher
systems aboard Trident nuclear submarines.
06/68 to 06/74: Active duty in U.S. Navy, as a Polaris Missile Technician.
Qualified in Submarines. Honorably discharged. Held Defense Department
security clearance.
Education
Graduated 1967 from Saint Mary's High School - Columbus, Ohio. Graduated
first in class from U. S. Navy Polaris Missile Technician school in 1969.
PLC training: (Rockwell RSLogix 5000 Level 1 - Sept. 2008 and RSLogix Level
2 - Feb 2009), jet generators: (GE LM6000 Familiarization January 2010),
Thermo Environmental CEM (continuous environmental monitoring) system
equipment maintenance, Foxboro pneumatic and electronic control systems,
numerous courses for weapons systems, microcomputers, networking, software
applications and power plant control systems.
