Responsibilities:
Liaison between Purchasing, Program Management, Design Engineering and
Product Engineering. Establish synergies that promote Purchasing strategies
and business group objectives. Purchasing strategies that include,
aggregation of demand, early supplier involvement, and supplier
partnerships and LTSA.
Creation and issuing of external RFQs. Member of "Core' Team, a cross
functional team comprised of representatives from Manufacturing
Engineering, Cost Estimating, Applications Engineering and Purchasing.
Focus of the team is to review all requests for quote and determine
feasibility.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and TS 16949
requirements
Maintain excellent CCI (Customer Care Index) scores for all "internal"
customers
Successfully utilized decision-making methodologies such as, 5W3H, SWOT
(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat), Quartile analysis, Idea Banks,
ABC analysis.
Identifying, qualifying and sourcing all Tier Two suppliers with the
objective of optimizing the value stream. Reduced number of suppliers
providing EPP molded parts from seven (7) to two (2), achieved savings buy
combining spend of +550K.
Diverse Supplier Program. Overall responsibility expanding the Diverse
Supplier base. Objectives are to be in compliance with company and
customer Diverse Supplier initiatives.
Program management responsibilities for Tier Two content. Ensure all
deliverables are executed in a timely manner. Through understanding of
PPAP, APQP, DFEMA, PFEMA, Run @ Rate and DVPR. Launched Mercedes M Class
underbody shield program. Acted as both Program Manager and Buyer. Shortage
in PM necessitated the need for the duel role. Achieved all launch targets
and milestones as well as commercial budget targets.
Developed alternate source for TPO for Ford F150 vinyl floor project.
Savings of +330K annually.
Creating and deploying the operating methodology for the purchasing of
"hard" tooling, i.e. mold tools, trim tools, assembly aids, check fixtures
and automation (approx. $3.5 million per year). Led effort for establishing
"written" tooling standards, which allowed for streamlining the quoting
process and improved the quality and timeliness of quote responses.
Ensure all internal and external audit requirements are met for Tooling.
Facilitated development of standard tooling specifications in order to
issue competent RFQs. Allowed suppliers to provide accurate responses that
eliminated the need for time-consuming follow up discussions with suppliers
concerning compliance with the specifications. Improved accuracy and
timeliness of supplier responses. Developed tooling supplier panel for
approved sources. Achieved +750K savings in tooling as a result of
negotiation and auction strategies.
Development, deployment and maintenance of Supplier Development Manual
Supplier audits. Developed the strategy used for auditing suppliers to
ensure compliance to Rieter requirements. Review SPI (supplier score
cards).
