PROJECTS: EMG used in stroke and spinal cord injured patients (2nd
SEM):
Motto of this project was to do initial investigation for
the project "EMG controlled Function Electrical
stimulation". In the internship the basic of EMG and FES
(functional electrical stimulation) was explored which
proved to be helpful in the project continuing on the same
project. Main focus is to explore the strategies to control
the muscle stimulation using EMG as control parameter for
the stroke and spinal cord injury patients to make the
control mechanism more efficient in terms of response. This
includes creating a prototype to prove the concept. The
control program is being built on Lab View. The project
helped me gain experience in the field of bio signal
processing while the development of the control system made
me an experienced person in control system programming.
Master course project (Mirror Neurons, 3rd SEM):
A study of Neural engineering that allows a person to
understand how infants learn everything from ground. I was
seeking answers to some of the following questions. For
instance, which region of brain activates when the brain is
no longer plastic and how do individuals understand signs
and gestures made by others.
Research on Mechanism of Cells and Tissues:
It was a brief study about mechanism, characterization and
structural behavior about body cells and tissue with
respect to its surrounding's temperature and
characteristics of different cells and tissues. It also
includes study of Tendons and Ligaments with its detailed
mechanical characteristics, design and functional
characteristics. Throughout this study we understood
etiology of cartilage disease.
Wireless Telemetry
It is a working model consisting of hardware and software
components that utilizes micro controller 89C51, sensors,
etc. Its purpose is to sense and display various parameters
such as temperature, light intensity, water level, and
humidity. Also this data can be stored on the computer and
be used to predict weather patterns.
